Hello, I am Wada Yusuke.

I found that we can "Run" as a "Full-Round Action" in combat time,
but I also found that we can do a "Move Action" two times
by exchanging with a "Standard Action."

In PHB, examples of doing "Move Action" two times have
different conduct -- "Stand up and Move," "Sheathe a weapon and Move," etc.

Here I have a question -- can we "Move" two times as two "Move Actions?"

If so, isn't it incoherent to the conduct "Run?"
I say so because it has limitation of Constitution,
though "Move" twice doesn't have such a thing.

Please someone, let me something about it.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Wada Yusuke

Yes. You can use two "Move Actions" and thus move twice your speed. A
character with a movement speed of 30-feet can use two "Move Actions" to
move 60 feet.

"Run" allows moving x3 or x4 speed. A character in light armor can run x4
speed. If his speed were 30-feet, he could "Run" 120 feet, but two "Move
Actions" would only be 60 feet. The negative aspect to "Run" is that it has
to be in a straight line, and there are penalties to Armor Class, etc.

I forgot to write a thing.

I thought that, according to PHB,
in combat time, ordinary moving is "Hustle,"
so it is twice of ordinary walking.
"Run" is four times of ordinary walking.
So moving two times is equal to "Run."
Is this right?

Thanks.

I think it must also be clarified that your speed is a move action of
hustling OR a full round of walking. A move action of walking (rarely
used) would be half your speed. A double move is a full round of
hustling. On the overland scale, you normally walk, because you can only
hustle without penalty for up to an hour. (In combat, you don't need to
worry about hustling for too long because (a) an hour is 600 rounds, and
(b) you're not moving the whole time if you're fighting or casting spells.)

Plus the Run feat bumps it up to x5, but has no effect on the double move
(hustle).

Hello, I am Wada Yusuke.

Thank you for the responces.

I understood deeply.
I came to think that ordinary moving in combat is
quarter distance of "Run."

Again, thank you.

Sincerely,

Wada Yusuke

Not always. In heavy armor, Run is x3 movement, in which case, ordinary
movement is a third of the Run distance. As another poster mentioned, Run
can be x5 movement with the Run feat, in which case ordinary movement is a
fifth of the Run distance.

Thank you for your kind addition.
I will actively use the things you taught me.
