Hey board, I got a small problem I'm hoping you arcade genuises can
help with:

I replaced the monitor in my Track & Field last night on account the
old one was in pretty rough shape. The "new" one (I salvaged it from
an Afterburner) is bright and sharp and has no burn... BUT the picture
is shaky pretty much whever I touch any part of the game or stomp on
the floor (working on games generally requires a considerable about of
stomping on my part). You can imagine how it reacts when I'm actually
pounding the buttons trying to get the damn javelin over 72.5 meters.

I've been told to check the rgb/sync cables but I'm not really sure
what that is.

Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Hey thanks for the quick responses.

The monitor I swapped in to the game is a WG 7901 and the one that came
out was a 4901.

It's probably a Wells Gardner monitor - notorious for cold solder joints. I
would reflow the solder pins where the RGB wires, SYNC wires, pretty much
any pressure point where wires plug in or out connect. THEN give it a close
look at reflow anything that looks suspicious. If it STILL shakes, start
reflowing everywhere.

Sounds like you may have salvaged a WG 4600 perhaps? Does the monitor
that's in it now have two vertical cards on the chassis? What kind of
monitor is it?? If it's the 4600 then you probably just have to push the
cards down a bit more.
