im confused, i hear about mods for WoW, but wow is a server based game i
thought, how can you modify it? is it kinda like the principle of the old
maphack for d2? does blizz allow the mods? what function do they serve?
im so confused, i always thought of mods as being client based and not
applying to server based games, espicially mmorpgs... this is like the
ground openning up underneath me...

Basically don't use anything that requires an external exe to make it
work. WoW scans your PC and compares it against an apparant known list
of hacks and cracks and other banned exe's. They will ban you if any of
them are found to be running.

The addons in WoW are in LUA and XML format. Don't ask me about the ins
and outs as I have no idea Smile

Take a look at the UI and Customisation forums on the offical WoW sites
for more information.

These old drybones went out and purchased a New Dell XPS 600 with dual
video
cards and 2GB Ram.

Oblivion plays like a dream.

Installed Morrowind / Tribunal / Bloodmoon this afternoon onto the #2
HD
that also has Oblivion installed.

1. Bloodmoon patch d/led from Bethesda, will not install. Said,
"Missing or Invalid Registry /or INI entry. Hit OK then got Old File
does
not exist."

I continued to click on the OK and finally it said completed or what
ever.
Patch did NOT take.

#2. My Dell 20" monitor when Standard Morrowind screen comes up has a
Double
blue line from top to button on the left side of the screen.

I went from 1600 x 1200 to 800 x 600 res and lines still there.

These very old and drybones do not know what to do next to get
Morrowind
Etc. up and running as it did on my past two (2) machines.

Anyone assist with this problem?
Thanks for reading and replying

no its not like maphack they are actually "interface mods" they only
change the look and feel of the game like moving your bars around and
changing your health meter and things like that
they might give you a slight advantage because you can click things
faster but they do not modify the actually server aka. nobody can tell
your using them , does that answer your question ?
