Post subject: memory dump and exit to desktop
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>games (more info?)

after playing Neverwinter Nights for a while, the prog. stops (freezes) and
eventualy creates an error log and dumps the memory and returns to desktop.

I run a 1.7 Ghz comp. on Asus A7V333 with an ATI Radeon 9550 card (256 Megs)
and have 1 Gig ram on comp. Latest video drvs and sound drvs. Latest DX
ver. Latest Mother board drvs.

This is the only game I have trouble with and run alot of graphic itensive
games...
Call of duty 2, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Gun, Age of Wonders... and
alot more.

What the heck is the problem???!!!

Any help is appreciated...

BTW... while in game the 3D environments are nice, no clipping... no
anomalies, etc... it just suddenly crashes. Don't even need to reboot.. I
can play other games right after.... for the entire day... strange!!

Now if you can download and install a small free program called Si Soft
Sandra after you crash to the desktop you can check cpu and motherboard temps
after intense gamming, and compare those temps to average start-up temps and
I bet you a dollor to a doughnut there is more than a 10 degree difference on
your AMD system. When my system runs Battlefield 2 for an hour or so it dumps
back to the desktop and temps have gone up from 92 degrees to 103 degrees a
temp it does not like to run at for long . Do you get any game lag or
artifact issues a bit before the dump....?
