| Everquest UI - Hi All For purely personal reasons, I didn't like *some* of the features of the new UI Sony have given us (If you like it, that's great though, heh). I like the old-style 2 X 5 Hotbutton bars, rather than the ones, and I like the old spell..

They're still 'patching'.
Check the official Sony forums, they're reasonably good at posting updates
these days,
"All EverQuest servers are currently locked for the Game Update and
maintenance on EQPlayers website. The estimated downtime is 10 hours. We
expect the servers to be unlocked within 15 minutes.(news posted at 3:17pm
PDT)"

Probably trying to reduce costs by sharing technology. One patch tool
which is configurable (SOE Launchpad) is cheaper to maintain than 3 or 4.
Seems like a good idea. I guess the stage after that is including all the
games you have installed in the same launchpad tool.

a) Continuous updates via the forum news thing and
b) the last two or three patches have run on time or early
make it less painful than ever.

Well, it could be worse. My wife plays Star Wars: Galaxies and
apparently the last couple of times she brought up the launcher for
that game, there was a banner message that said that the servers were
down. She finally just tried to connect... and bingo, got in.
Apparently SOE just didn't bother changing the message. >> Stay informed about: Can't login to everquest |

Just to update this... the SW:G loader *still* says "all servers are
down"  >> Stay informed about: Can't login to everquest |
