Because Oblivion has the roads protected by guards, it explains the
lack of heavy monsters. A player could roam freely from town to town.
The farther you get from the beaten path the more bad guys you should
encounter.

I really wish that Oblivion could use something like Diablo for
leveling up. In Diablo, there are many places where you can get
killed, but because the monsters respawn you can kill more and more and
eventually you will be strong enough to continue. This is good for my
12 year old nephew. He picks the armor and weapons that look cool.
You can still win the game this way it just takes a lot longer. In
games like Dungeon Siege and Diablo you start at one end and walk to
the other. Oblivion could expand on this by putting the better
treasure farther and farther off the beaten path.

They did so much right. I am very impressed with the game. It is a
shame that the plot is so shallow. I would like to load the game now
but I can't stand having to face another cave or ruin, and there is
little else to do. The gofer quests are interesting in moderation, but
I want to kill something! I want the need to find more gold to be able
to buy better goodies that at the present time are not available or
even necessary.

I really hope someone from Bethesda is listening. Can anyone confirm
that our complaints and complements are being heard from anyone with
influence from Bethesda?
