| Boots of Great Speed - I noticed that GB shows a plus sign in front of these, meaning you can get them via the game plot. Does anyone know how one can actually get the boots of great speed?
Eternium Man - s p o i l e r s p a c e j u s t i n c a s e I just started an eternium man game, and have a few question to clear up. 1) You cannot scumsave, correct? 2) You have to stay on the first level of the small cave, correct?
a questin about sickness - i dont think this is rather spoily, but are there any benefits for fighting sickness and not curing it with prayers or anything?
A question. - Is there some kind of weight limit for items?

7LB is not really so great, since corruption is applied every
turn, and not by time.
I prefere any time to have teleport to get away from monsters.
The only things 7LBs are good for is to
keep distance to tough monsters you like to missile,
heal a little faster,
travel in wildernes.
I chose some good eternium boots anytime over some stupid [0,1]
7LB. |

I would take 7LB anytime just for outrunning those pesky cats, not to
mention that I've never been killed by corruption, but cases when my
deceased character would have lived with 7LB are numerous. Non-magic
characters do not always have enough teleport means. Besides,7LB help
with corruption in that the higher rate after 90 days kicks in later
because you spend less time both in dungeon and especially in the
wilderness. Add to that that you can enchant them to be as good as
eternium boots and the only possible conclusion is you gotta love 7LB

You have some pretty strong opinions for someone who obvously haven't played
Adom more then a week or two, at the most.
As Sandra said: the 90 days and running away from cats. That's what makes

I have won the game several times. By the way, arguments
against the person is always irrelevant.

I never really exceed the 90 day limit in a normal game, neither
have I problems with cats or jackals. So naturally i prefere some

I thought I gave you reason enough - you can make 7LB as good as
eternium, but not the other way around.

That is a good reason IF you are swimming in Scrolls of
Protection - which you usually are not. The scrolls can ofcourse
be used on other armour instead, making it silly to waste them on

You make it sound as if you need 20 scrolls when 3-4 would do and I do
not think you've ever been through a game with fewer than 5 and probably
close to 10. I would think you use them on something you would wear all
game, not on some armor that will get replaced. Besides, most of the
armor that you could enchant can easily be smithed anyway. That leaves
7LB for enchantment, or girdle of carrying if you do not cast strength
of atlas or something similarly useful but non-smithable. Add to that
that your enchanted boots will not get disenchanted by strong hits,
which is rather common for armor. All of this illustrates just why
spending those scrolls on 7LB is probably the best way to use them, but
the point of 7LB being an extremely useful item is indisputable even
without enchantment. Its benefits far outweigh a few points of PV at
that stage in the game. But hey, it's your game, if you prefer eternium,
go for it.
