I'm afraid this isn't something that someone else can tell you, you're
going to have to make chars and play on them to see which plays the best
for you at the times you play.

After all, unless there's someone else here that lives in the same
neighborhood as you, they're not likely to have the same link to the
game.

Yes, even servers in the same physical location will play differently.

Pain in the ass I know, i'm currently bouncing around checking them
since Virtue keeps dumping me at random.

Used to play on Liberty way back when CoH was new - tried it last night
and it seemed ok until I actually tried to enter the first Kalinda
mission and the game did a fantastic impression of a "not responding"
app for 5+ minutes (at the loading screen with zero progress loading)
before suddenly loading the level.

Well my assumption was that any server that wasn't giving me massive lag
and disconnections _now_ would only get better as the thrill of I7 wore
off and the numbers decreased again.

In the end though I stayed on Virtue, though one benefit was that
Pastiche was already taken on Victory so I had to hunt up a synonymous
name which I then used for the new SS/elec Brute, Gallimaufry, with some
bio changes from pastiche - same look though.

Not finding Electric Melee as interesting as it first seemed - too slow
for one thing and seems _very_ end costly - both of which contribute to
making it hard to build up any fury - almost like Electric Melee was
designed for Scrappers or Tankers not Brutes.

Electric Armor on the other hand, i'm still loving. Cept for the lack
of a heal.

I'm growing un-fond of Jacob's ladder pretty fast. It doesn't seem to be
all that wide a cone and doen't seem to hit all that often.

The armor seems pretty nifty. I'm still debating lighnng field.

It's a _melee_ cone - similar to Shadow Maul, so positioning is
everything, but even then you're not liable to hit many at once with it.
Took it on the first el/el - skipped it on the second since it's slow as
hell as well as not hitting much.

I skipped it, for the moment anyway, since it doesn't really fit the
character concept - similar to the fire aura, or death shroud, or mud
pots - minor damage to everything about you - good for holding aggro if
you're playing as the designated punching bag of a team - less useful
solo.

The really need to fix grounded too.
How nice a power that's _described_ as "only works when you're _close_
to the ground" which in actuality only works when you're on the ground,
and perfectly flat ground at that - slopes, ramps and rough terrain need
not apply.

Someone at Cryptic needs to be taught what the hell "close" means.

Funny how if close meant the same thing to that programmer as it does to
the rest of the world, there'd be no problem with rough terrain/slopes
etc since you'd still be in range.

I'll probably suffer though it till 17 then respec it out. I made my brute
in the time between I7 release and respec release.

Do AOE attacks do much for holding/advancing the rage bar?

I have seen characters appear to stand out in space with one toe touching a
slope. I suspect the problem lies soemwhere in there.

I made a couple in that time slot.

Then I got sick of electric melee and made an ss/elec that doesn't have
a free respec, but isn't likely to need one either.

I didn't notice anything - but the whole electric melee set seems pretty
damn bad for fury use.
Slowish attacks with longer than average recharge times and (seemingly)
higher than others end drain as well.
I don't think I ever got the fury up over halfway before I had to rest
(or risk running out of end tabs for emergency use.)

At one point I had a screenshot from the old weekly coh game - in which
I had died in the cave mission we were doing (the larger troll type
caves).
One small portion of the corpse - feet and ankles I think -were touching
the ground, the rest was magically levitating.

I think this kind of thing can't happen now, since the new physics tends
to make bodies conform more to the floor surface (or whatever else they
landed on) rather than just using a flat_floor corpse graphic.

The only real problem they have is that they write a description that
says "close to the ground" and the idiot programmer coded "touching the
ground" with such little tolerance that stepping on a flea breaks your
contact.

Had "close" been defined as the basic height you'd get when standing
still and hitting a hover or fly power, then there'd be no problem at
all with slopes and caves and...
