I don't think it matters. I have read nothing confirming that it does. I
have lots (400+) of MF with my sorc, and she doesn't find any more keys
than my trap assassin that only has 200 MF.

Yes. There are forums that discuss this. I think at least one other
person has to be near you when you make the kill, however.
Personally, I've found that key running with friends is actually less
productive, since it doesn't affect drop rates *that* much, and it
usually makes the run *take* longer, because the monsters are tougher
when two people are in the game. The only benefit for sure is that you
get more experience.

I've had cold streaks on all three key-droppers. It happens. The base
chances of a key dropping are supposed to be 1/34. Sometimes you can get
more than one to drop, however. In any case, you can have hot and cold
streaks with those odds.
I've had two keys drop in 3 runs, and no keys drop in 52 runs.
