Hello everybody!

So after a break of several years, I think I'm gonna go back to CoH
(probably will log into CoV too, just to see it). As a matter of
fact, I believe I left the game before Issue 2 came out. Yeah, I
wasn't a long-termer (which is funny because I was so eager and
involved in beta and before).

So anyway, I've seen that there's a usenet super team, thought I might
try to pop in and say hi, get to know some people. What server is it
on?

Assuming my old account hasn't been deleted, I've got a few characters
on Virtue. Tend to prefer Defenders -- would love to be a force-
fielder, but the sound FX of them just drove me nuts! But I also have
a few Scrapper and Tanker ideas.

Anywhoo, if someone wants to see about helping out a returning player
-- I'm sure it's a whole new game by now, besides just CoV -- I'd
appreciate it. Any words of advice are welcome!

-- Ron

Welcome back! Message @Sword Saint any time you need a hand! (And by
the way, Cryptic never deletes accounts or characters due to inactivity,
so you should be good to go.)

I will try to remember -- By this time next week, I should be in
there. Is Triumph the server that the newsgroup supergroup is based
on?

Nope, we're on Victory. I think everyone here has at least mid-level alts
to help out. I have a spread from about 7 to so-close-to-50 I can taste it.

Three years of uninterrupted playing and I still don't have a 50.
S'embarrassing...

Hero side I have Scarlet Scimitar (blaster) at 31.

Villain side, Echoes of Mortality (corr) is around 14 or so, and the
brute is around 22 I think (haven't played that one in quite a while
now.)

>Three years of uninterrupted playing and I still don't have a 50.
>S'embarrassing...

Shouldn't be.

Should almost be a source of pride, since you're into the game, not into
arriving at the finish line as fast as possible. (And Kheldians were a
piss poor "reward" for getting to 50.)

In all my time playing, I have one 50, and then next closest was around
36 until Gallimaufry on the villain side hit 40 - I think hero galli is
over 40, but not certain of level at the moment since I've been playing
Echoes lately.

Was getting a bit boring with the endless similar missions.
Well the new rikti missions were sorta neat, but it's kind of a downer
that the only character I have that can get those vanguard costume
pieces is the one character type that can't wear them.

Well ok, she can (and does) wear the vanguard gloves, which are the one
piece that doesn't really override the character concept - claws
actually look good with it.

Well I for one thurougly enjoyed my peacebringer HouseQuake on Justice,
enough so to get it to 50. The concept of being able to play a toon that
can change from a scrapper to a blaster to a tank and heal others as well as
myself was quite fun. The fact that you also get fight from level 1 is a
bonus. But that's just my silly opinion.

Come join us (well me since I seem to play the most CoV out of us atm) on
the Victory Server when you get your machine back up and running Ron. I
primarily play my Energy/Dark Corrupter in CoV which should be my first
lvl50 villian and I am halfway there as of yesterday. Then came the debt,
lots of it.

Well, new computer is in and set up: Vista is kinda cool, actually.
Anyway, installed the (freshly bought) Good vs. Evil edition and
updated it -- not sure if I'm done updating, but anyway...

Restarting through billing seems to be an issue. I may reach out to
NC when I get home from work, but one way or another, I should be in
tonight. I guess I get my 10 free days or whatever of CoV, but I seem
to be having trouble getting into CoH. Go figure.

Anyway, I'll attempt to get in tonight. Though my fiancee may be so
fascinated by character generation, I may not get through! Wink

See ya in Rhode Island...

Well now this is interesting. Ok, got through my password and
everything, got the cursor setup, doing ok. But the CoH GvE edition
(I had to go buy a new disk 'cause my old one went the way of the
dodo... or the 5th Column, if you prefer) seems to only be fetting me
into the Heroes side. I haven't seen a way to get into CoV yet.

Is that strange? Am I a dummy, missing something obvious?
