Do totems stack? If they do then probably the 4 types used are
optimal. I watched a few videos on 5 man shaman teams last night,
looked interesting. Would love to try it out if I had the time and
money to blow.

I think it was "Mark (newsgroups)" <marknewsgroups.DeleteThis@yahoo.com> that

The thing is, no matter how good the team is, they're never going to
have as good a timing as the multi-boxer except with luck. the
multi-boxer is going to be able to hit a single target with say 5
casting time spells followed immediately by 5 instants, all pretty
much within the exact same second. That doesn't leave much, if any
time for someone to put a heal on their target. Heal lands too early,
there's nothing to heal yet, too late, and the target's dead.
Now, something like pain suppression to let you get in close and live
long enough to get an AoE fear off, might work. Once the group's
split up a bit, ranged attacks at max range to nuke one of em them
while the rest are still too far away from the attacks, (and hopefully
still feared so they can't just heal their friend through the attacks)
might work.

That'd be my guess anyway. Never come across them myself.

No it doesn't. Healing Stream stacks, Tremor Totem stacks (best if
they are not placed simultaneously though), and Grounding Totem
stacks. Searing, Fire Nova, Magma kind of stack as well in that they
all do damage independently. Healing Stream is the only proper buff
that stacks.
