started getting this error quite a lot recently (had my 360 about a year), i
have to power down then power up to get the game going, sometimes the disc
will start spinning at the 2nd attempt, sometimes at the 5th or 6th.

is my 360 on the way out or is there anything i can do myself to resolve
this ?

someone suggested a lens cleaner but im not convinced myself ?

cheers

I've never used a lens cleaner on my 360 (had it for 1 and 1/2 years
now), but it's certainly worth a shot. You could try some compressed
air as well (which is what I prefer). Just fire off a test blast
before using it just in case of an accidental fluid discharge...

If you rent games allot ,I'd suggest getting a DVD disc cleaner that
also demagnetizes . It's worth a shot and if you open the package
carefully you can return it to wal-mart for a refund if it doesn't do
the trick. I've never gotten the disc read error in the 1 yr 9months
I've had my 360.
Do you store your 360 vertical or have you ever stored it in that
position? I'd always leave it in the flat position.

I got my first one last night right after the update, playing Mass
Effect (I've had my 360 since April 2006). I just hope it doesn't
become a regular thing.

Good idea. I used to keep mine in the upright position
and the tray would stick. I put it in the flat position
and haven't had the problem since.

Thats not any better than pirating games. You think it's WalMarts
responsibility to try to clean your 360?

I don't think that's what he is saying. While still unethical, what
he said was try that and see if it fixes his problem. If it does,
there is no reason why he wouldn't keep it.

Even if you destroy the packaging Wal-Mart will take it back with a
receipt for 90days but they most likely can't re-sell it in their retail
store they'll have to send it to an outlet that specializes in opened
items like Big Lots for instance. As long as you have the barcode, but I
have seem them take an item back without one.

I like to keep the packaging mint ,just my thing, they will put it right
back on the shelf if done so and still urn a 100% profit,no harm no
foul.

I'll admit its a bit of a grey area doing so, but hey a 90 warranty is
there for a reason, why not use it. Wal-Mart is not exactly a company
with a benchmark for integrity.

Piracy on the other would be like me walking into Wal-Mart and stealing
the item and never looking back.
