Yeah I was thinking of just not using it at all anymore. So what's the
mod about, to avoid the 'temptation'?

Well I'm reading a lot of people dislike fast travel and don't use it. There
is already a mod available, for those sensible enough to have the PC version
Wink, that removes it from the game.

I suppose it is. There is also a mod that removes the compass.

The fast travel only works to-from places you've been. There are lots of
places in the middle that you'd have to run for miles to find.

Is the fast travel randomly interupted as in Baldur's Gate? If not might be
an idea for a mod.

What is the benefit of riding a horse? I'd rather just run.

You can only fast travel to places you've already been - I imagine the
horse is more for exploring, fast trravel for getting back quick.

Well, I'm able to travel to quest destinations without having been
there first. I'm probably going to stop using fast travel, because this
is the first game I feel that getting there is half the fun. Smile

I walked pretty much everywhere in Morrowind because I liked the scenery.
There were tonnes of nice spots in the game. Judging by the screenshots
I've seen, Oblivion's going to be the same way. So why waste it by using
the fast travel option unless you absolutely have to? Better to ride a
horse and enjoy the sights.

At least that's my take on it...

And some horses are faster than others it seems.

If you fast travel when you have a horse do you get there faster? (in
game time) than without the horse?
