A very nice (and long) review of the Wii, but there are few things that
jumped out at me:
http://www.2old2play.com/News/2old2play_Hands_on_Review_of_the_Wii
"To begin, let us all say hello to the 'Jaggies' of previous consoles."
"games that seemed better fit for a controller, felt forced and
awkward. Ported games like Madden, Marvel Ultimate Alliance or even
first party games like Zelda had the most awkward gameplay
experiences."
"You must point the controller at the sensor bar and not the TV and I
found myself struggling to locate my center. Taller people gaming with
a low sensor bar will make things much harder because you must turn
your wrists down in order to get a center spot on the monitor."
"Marvel Ultimate Alliance was the most disappointing display at the
party. I'm sure this game would be perfect with a normal controller,
but with the wiimote it was a disaster."
Don't get me wrong, he has good stuff to say too... but this is the
first time I've seen anyone say anything other than glowing comments
about the Wii.

I've been saying this for months. The Wiimote is basically going to be fun
for 30 minutes and only for 30 minutes. After that, people will be tired of
standing around moving their arms about and being forced to move as much as
they are. Let's face it, video games are a lazy hobby. You can't expect lazy
people to want to be very physical every time they play.

From what I have seen most games DESIGNED for the motion control while
difficult to get used to, where the desired method of control. Games that
have been 'retrofittted' to use Motion control do so poorly and so the
users were not as happy.

THe switch was made becauwe of pRon not because people got sick of going to
the movies, well that and the fact that the original players came down in
price from $1000 for the original units.

Not to mention the NEW DVD players were expensive.

THe difference is not worth the price espcially if my current TV's work
fine and there is limited content available. If you arent a sports fan
there is little to gain from the switch right now.

But the cost does not justify the difference, especailly if you dont have a
TV that can display 1080p and since standard DVD's are only about 550p...

No, its because Game Selection for the 360 sucks, MS is waiting to release
games to see what happens with the other consoles. paying $10 more for Lego
Star wars on the $360 when I can buy it for my PS2 and it looks EXACTLY the
same gives me no real reason to spend the extra money (even though I did)

I think you are wrong, the gaming public is ready for a change and if done
correctly Nintendo will will hearts with this new innovation, they have
already won mine, I cant wait for this console.

Why not? Just make a football-shaped pillow with a pocket so you can
insert the WiiMote, and then just throw it around the living room.
If the ball goes too low, that's a fumble/tackle/incomplete pass. This
way, you and your friend can get into the spirit of things by playing the
21st century version of "indoor sports" - complete with your
spouse/girlfriend to play the role of your mother by yelling "No
rough-housing in the house!" after you miss a tackle, and take out the
china cabinet. Whee!
And just think of the remake of the SNES classic Super Dodgeball! Again,
using the pillow idea, whip the WiiMote at your pal to score points. >> Stay informed about: First hints of Wii-Trouble: |

That gives me an idea. Why not drop the Wiimote, leave the television
behind, go outside, and throw a ball around? No worries about pointing at
the bar, lag times, batteries, wireless interference, etc. Just pure
sports!
On second thought, that would never catch on... >> Stay informed about: First hints of Wii-Trouble: |

ok good. One thing I like about the classic controls is that you can
still use
the shooting, deking and passing with the stick. >> Stay informed about: First hints of Wii-Trouble: |

Best of both worlds!
That is what I use (classic controls). >> Stay informed about: First hints of Wii-Trouble: |
