help sim1 wont play is it because of directx 9??? 3d funct..

I always had crashing problems with Sims1 using Win98. It runs much better
under XP. You didn't say how old your system was, or give any other details
about it, but make sure that your video card is compatible with DirectX 9 (I
had a Dell Inspiron notebook with an ATI Radeon 9200 which wasn't, but there
was a file on Dell's website which allowed DX9 to run on my system). If not,
you may have to drop back to DirectX 7 or 8, which might mean doing another
reformat if you can't find a DirectX removale utility (there used to be one
on the Internet... try a Google search for it).
