Hi... I have finally found that I may have time to actually use the
computer for the reason they were created... games Wink

I am looking for help tho as there are so many to choose from.

Here is that I am looking for....
- Third person style (view from behind the main character)
- Puzzle solving
- Some shooting or sniping
- Not always fast-paced
- Not too many keyboard commands as I have little patience
- Not "1st person" shooter... that makes me dizzy and ill

A couple games I have loved in the past... (but they were on a console)
- Legend of Zelda (all titles)
- N64 style "Army Men" game (not PC versions)

and the game doesnt have to be brand new, and in fact would be better
if it wasnt (cost-wise).

Anyway... I know you guys get asked this type of question all the
time... but when I read some of the threads I dont always know what
types of games are being recommended... so her I am spelling out what
Im looking for.

Thank you very much for any help!

Tombraider. Prolly just start with the first one, although there may be
minor issues getting it to run properly under winXP which are addressed by
some 3rd party patches. alt.games.tombraider will help you out with more
suggestions.

Perhaps Beyond Good and Evil also.

Thief 3: Deadly Shadows
Hitman 2 and Hitman Contracts

They should please you.

You may want to play Thief 1-2 too, but they have 1st person view (which
I prefer).
System Shock 2, is also nice but I think it was 1st person.

I spent .99 cents for a used Hitman 2 at the store.

If I have to pay $200 for a videocard to play a game...
I dont need to play that game.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations.
I appreciate it.

Havent seen the later versions of Tomb Raider yet, store clerk said
"Angel of Darkness" wasn't that great so I passed on it for now.... but
Hitman 2 seems great!

I have a MSI MB with an ATI Express 200. I enjoy adventure but did enjoy
HALO (yes a FPS). The ATI 200 will play HALO at low to mid settings. BTW
I just got an ATI X700 ($99USD) and it works good. Not too expensive but
still a good graphic boost. I am also a TR fan, and got the X700 just
for the new TRL. And I agree, 'Angel of Darkness' is not the one to
start with or you may not want to play any of the others.

In fact I did purchase Knights of the Old Republic (used).... what I
found was that it ran slow on my computer. The major problem was that
when action started everything slowed down.... and when I clicked the
reaction time wasnt that great. Maybe I can blame my video card and/or
the shared memory involved... but regardless I just uninstalled the
game and moved on.

I will look into Morrowind. Right now I am actually enjoying Hitman 2.
I picked up Siberia 2 because it was only $1.99 and of course it looks
good. But I know it is not really within the criteria I was asking for
help with.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 ...Star Wars Jedi Academy...Hitman 2 is good,
Hitman 1 is hoorid ...Hitman 3 (contracts) is remake of the 1st one ...
Splinter Cell You MUST TRY SPLINTER CELL 1 or 2 ..I dont think 3 will run on
your graphic card..
There are free Demos for all of those on the net..
Have you considered action type Role Playing games ? Star Wars Knights of
the Old Republic..
MORROWIND ...if you are just really getting into games as if from new you
will have to
consider Morrowind sooner of later ..it can be played 3rd person
Nither of these 2 have demos.

Thief: Deadly Shadows (can be played as third-person)
Psychonauts
Max Payne 1 & 2 (a little faster than the above 2, though not
overwhelmingly so, especially when "bullet time" plays such a large
role)
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

All should be found relatively cheaply now, perhaps on eBay (that's
where I picked up "Thief..." recently for about €5.
