The only one I know from alot of experience is the Arcade Legends and its
sister machine Ultracade. The AL a pretty nice machine for someone who
doesn't want to collect a bunch of games. There are add on packs that you
can get to add to the cabinet too and ship on USB keys so they're really
easy to add. I like it but I think they could add a couple of things to
it's setup. A spinner would be nice to have but the control panel is
already a bit packed. They also don't have any support for gun games which
I think would probably be a big seller if it was an add on pack. The two
joystick and six buttons a piece work well and the trackball plays great on
it for games like centipede. It's PC based so they can add as much as they
want. Some of the games work great, but some leave a bit to be desired due
to the controls. For example Defender, while it looks exact, I can't play
on it because I don't know what buttons do what. On a dedicated machine you
have the memory of what is where, but I guess if you play it enough you
could build on that memory. The Arcade Legends machine is a decent machine
for someone who doesn't know about mame or just wants to buy something ready
made. It comes with a real 25" horizontal arcade monitor so most games look
dead on. Vertical games play well too since it's a 25 inch monitor. The
cocktail is pretty nice too, it's setup like the old Atari Football cabs
where you play head to head. You may be able to find a dealer near you to
check one out. Definitely check each of them out before purchasing anything
like that so you can see what each of them offer first hand.
