I need help with Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.

I cannot seem to plant the Upseed, Gemsoil, flowers or seeds,
as well as the Happy Lamp flowers or seeds in the ground, in order for
me to be able to suc- cessfully grow crops in any soil, in any season.
All that happens when I try planting the Upseed flower,
Gemsoil, or Happy Lamp flower is that I take out the flower, and show
it, istead of placing it in the ground.
And I even tried planting it with one of the seeds from one of
my crops, and it still didn't work!

I just cannot figure this out, why Faqs say that these three
flowers, or, rather, what sounds like they are seeds, can actually be
planted in the ground, together, when, as far as I've been able to tell,
they can't be put in the ground togeth- er. In fact, they can't be put
into the ground at all, period.

I read that I have to hybrid the Gemsoil with a crop to plant
them in the ground. What exctly does that mean: to hybrid the Gemsoil
with a crop. Or hybrid all these three flowers, or seeds with a crop.

I am racking my brain tying to understand what they mean. I am
very new to any Harvest Moon games. As this is the very first Harvest
Moon game I have ever played.

At first I thought the graphics we're too cartoony, but, I got
used to them, and I began liking the game. Now, I love this game. But,
it's very upsetting, and frustra- ting, when I'm told that I'm supposed
to be able to do a certain thing in the game, and, when I try to do that
thing again and again, and I cannot do it!



Please, if someone out there can help me understand what I do not
under- stand with this game, involving those plants, or seeds, please
help.


The information I read at Gamefaqs. com was not thorough enough to
truly understand what they meant.

Hmm... I don't recall trying to plant flowers in this game, but I assume
you would need to plant flower seeds not the flowers themselves. You can
try turning the flowers into seeds using the seed maker in the tool shed.
If you don't have a seed maker already you'll need to buy one.

You can feed seeds to a special talking plant to hybridize them.
The talking plant shows up later in the game, so don't worry about it
for now.

I suggest that you ingore all the FAQs you've been reading and stick
to the basics. Just try to do the stuff mentioned the manual and in
the game. For example, instead trying to plant flowers, just give any
flowers you collect as gifts to townspeople. In particular you need
to convince one of the three girls to marry you before the end of the
second year or your game will end there, so experiment and see what
kinds of flowers they like.
