Post subject: help with EAX and Soundblaster External 24bit

Hey Folks..

Just bought the above mentioned sound card...but in the settings on
the system menu of Doom 3 will not allow me to chose the EAX option.
As far as I know, this external card is equipped for it.

Any advice?

Have you checked that you have your speakers configured so that Windows
knows you have "surround" speakers?

When I reinstalled w2k not long ago and reinstalled Doom, I had the same
problem until I set the speakers in the control panel under "sounds and
multimedia" from stereo to surround...
