and especially losing to these GOLD FARMING slugs.

So, I refuse to let them clog up the newsgroup with their posts and
have nothing posted of my own. This newsgroup is about the only CoH/V
site I can get to at work and I don't want to see it fall to the
spammers.

Now... I need something to say.

I've never had a 'rich' character, in fact, I've always struggled to
pay for enhancements and other stuff. Wentworths has helped me change
all of that. I can - in about an hours worth of time - make close to a
million influence by doing what I think of as 'day trading'.

I go to Wentworth's and bid on level 50 recipes that aren't very
popular. I bid around a 1000 influence for 10 of them and fill all of
my slots with the bids. I then go play the game. When I have down time
(after leveling or right before logging off) I go and pick up my
purchases and sell them at the store for 10000 influence each. I'm
making a little less than 9000 influence on each of them and I can
usually fill all 13 slots in my recipe storage. I'm clearing just a
bit more than 100,000 per trip and on a good night I can make 4 trips
in a row. I do that when I first log on and when I log off. Throw in
the odd salvage that is worth actually listing and I can profit a
million influence per day.

My main toon, Ninja Daddy 34 MA/SR, is now hiring lowbies in the
Hollows to do missions with him so he can work on his mentoring
badges. I paid one level 11 toon 50,000 to do a mission with me. It
makes the game more fun for me when I can spread the wealth around. If/
when I get so lucky as to get a rare costume drop I plan to sell it
and run several contests in Atlas just to spread the joy.

All in all, I like the changes that Wentworth's have brought around.

That's sweet. I'll have to try it.

Another good suggestion I saw on the forum is farming for magical
salvage in Perez (hunting Hellions between level 9 and 12) and
eventually graduating to Banished Pantheon in Dark Astoria.

I'm getting really annoyed that all my missions are for tech
salvage droppers.o

Leveling up a Regen scrapper has been quite interesting. I've
felt like I'm in God mode for most of my career, but certain
stuff that I never feared with other characters just houses me,
e.g., Nightwolves and Circle of Thorns spirits. I'm getting a
first class lesson in which critters have massive burst damage,
and which don't.

This is almost as educational as when I switched from Scrappers
to Blasters last summer. I kept saying stuff like, "Huh. So Ink
Men have mezzes?"

Tanks are pretty boring. I don't recommend it.

Groups of defenders with stacked buffs and debuffs is borderline
abusive. It will be a good idea to abuse it while we still can!
My guess is that buff stacking is going to be nerfed at some
point in the future.

On the other hand, it might not happen. Defenders have plenty of
disadvantages, so maybe it evens out.

Tanking is great, I recommend it.

I had so much fun with my lvl 50 ice/ss I immediately went to a
stone/fire (now at lvl 40).

That's cool. I do have a level 35 Fire/Fire Tanker, and he *is*
fun to play. But I prefer the seat-of-the-pants play of Blasters
best.

I'd like to try out Wentworths, but there is that pointless DMA coding
issue with the COH client.

Regen is a lot less razor edge these days so you actually have a chance
to run away between bursts of damage.
The old regen you were either fine or dead.

I SO remember doing that after playing Regen early on.

Though for me I think it was the various mushroom type DE that I'd never
realized had any kind of status attack.

If you're being a teams meat shield I could see that, but some Tanker
builds are quite scrapper like (/em or /ss) and can be just as fun to
play.

People have been talking about stacking buffs since very early in the
game, so I think it's pretty unlikely the devs will do anything about it
this late in the game. Especially since the proportion of players who
would "abuse" it would be tiny.
