Ok, I've setup the latest mame 112 and the 6 chds I already downloaded and
burned to DVDs are not there anymore on the list, is this some kind of
temporary rollback or what? I also see old games like dragon's lair, space
ace, and goal to go in the chd folder, what the heck? Can there possibly be
chds from the early 80s?

what are you talking about? For CPS2 there are no chds or xors needed
anymore. They can go to the bin. Yes..you've downloaded 24GB for
nothing...now only 64bits are needed per game.

For laserdiscs, there are no available dumps of the chds available at
the moment. In MAME they are listed as nodumps. Aaron is still playing
with the extracted and compressed data.

What are you complaining about? Nobody forced you to download them. And it
was pretty evident the huge CHDs for CPS2 were only going to be a temporary
measure - thankfully. Smile

I'm complaining that I wasted 6 DVDs on what I thought were going to be
permanent CHDs. That was pretty awful, terrible.

The page says he's working on other ones, I sure hope that doesn't mean he's
going to change the 6 that were already released.

Nevermind, I just read the section where it says they're going to be
replaced. I'm screwed now that I wasted DVDs on them. God, I wish they
wouldn't have released them before they were ready.

Uhm, last time I bought some at Costco, I got 2 100 disk spindles of
TDK DVD+Rs for $41.

$41 / 200 == $0.205

20 cents aint a buck fifty.

Nothing in MAME is permanent. Everything is subject to change.

We don't need them anymore *because* we released them.

LOL. When tragedy strikes! Jon B: "I wasted 6 dvds. Noooooooooo."
Notice the op does not care about his time involved in downloading and
burning 24 gigs. His time is worth nothing, but the cost of six dvds?
