That may partly be because I don't post here much at all these days. Though
I have heard from a few other people that my posts stopped being visible
to them - but many can still see them fine.

Google picks up my posts fine, as well, if that is one of your worries...
But yes, Usenet's activity as a whole is a small fraction of what it was five
or ten years ago. A +lot+ of the activity has moved to various webforums...
but of course the problem there is that you can't crosspost from one webforum
to another AND have to know there's an appropriate forum, find it, register
on that forum (because registering on any other forum isn't recognized), and
go there every time you want to read or post. There's no central webforum
venue for all webforums (no matter how many "web portal" sites come into
existence that try to gather all such links in a given area...). But be
that as it may, a lot of the newer traffic is now happily playing out on
the Web, not here...
