will those work on a big screen (which i don't have yet)?

i have heard different things like early bigscreens can't handle video
games, because of burn in. i also heard gun games won't work except on tube
monitors (which makes no sense to me). i don't want to drop $1400 on a
walmart special and have a large paperweight.
