guillemot ff wheel on xp

Guys,
I am a bit of a late starter and this group seems rather deserted, but
is there any one out there who got the good old Guillemot Force
Feedback Racing wheel to work with Win XP? I am using the old W2k
drivers as has been suggested (after trying my luck with all the other
available drivers). The problem now essentially is that I am loosing
the wheel every time I boot up the system. A complete reinstall gives
me the wheel to play fine, but it is a real annoyance to go through
that remove/reinstall of drivers process all the time. Any advice much
appreciated.

Give a try with this question over at rec.autos.simulators . I am
reasonably sure there are readers with that wheel, that might be able to
help you.
