I had to reformat my hard rive and I thought before that when would be
placing zones, road etc. there was always a grid? Now that I have
reinstalled the game it isn't there.

Am I dreaming?

If so how do you turn it back on..

Erm

Try pressing the G button while your in the city - should turn the grid on
or off. There is no grid to be seen unless you go into the build mode,
select something (such as a street) and zoom in a bit, then a grid should
appear round the road, which im guessing you dont have* (and im sure you
knew that already). Give that a go and tell us what happens.
