Hi Jedi-Knighters. I haven't played Dark Forces 2 in months, but I had
a sudden hankering to try Mysteries of the Sith again. Unfortunantly,
it seems that the Graphics card I got between now and the last time I
played doesn't work with either DF2 or MOTS.
Here is a screenshot of what happens when I try to play with 3D
acceleration on: http://members.lycos.co.uk/xpheyel/images/bug.jpg
With it off, everything seems to work fine except for transparent
objects like the windows and water, which cause my FPS to drop to the
point of the game being literally unplayable.
With acceleration off and "Buffer in System Memory" on, everything
works fine for awhile. But the game crashes to the desktop with no
warning or error message randomly.
I've tried monkeying with "minimum texture" a bit, but I'm not sure
what it should be and it hasn't helped...

System Information:
OS: Windows XP Pro, SP1
Processor: Celeron 2.20Ghtz
Memory: 768MB DDR RAM (PC2700 or 2100 I believe)
Sound: AC97 Advance Audio (onboard sound)
Graphics: Radeon 9000 PCI Graphics Card 128MB
Driver: Catalyst Version 6.14.0010.6422
DirectX: 9.0b

Tell me if you need more information.

When I use the "analyze system" option in the Readme & Troubleshooting
section of the launcher, everything comes back passed.

Both those games were great. I particularly liked the fact there were unarmed
civilians in both games. The graphics weren't the best, but at the time they
were top-notch. Both games were a lot of fun.

There are some Jedi Knight websites that might have more information on this
problem. I'd check:

There are other Jedi Knight websites. Some of them have forums. You could
always google Mysteries of the Sith (or MOTS) and see what you come up with.

There is a command line switch that enables an "Advanced" section of the
graphics setup panel. I couldn't find it off hand but that may help you.
I needed it because some card I had wouldn't show transparencies the way JK
/MotS handled them (or something like that)
