hey, i was wondering if there was a way to use a different graphical
set when telnetting to games on nethack.alt.org. anyone know?

you can replace what letters represent what monsters (for example, i
along with others have the ghosts space, replaced with a capital X).

Well, you can use the DEC or IBM character sets by setting either DECgraphics
or IBMgraphics in your .nethackrc file (assuming your telnet client supports
those sets). If you want to use a tiled version of NetHack on NAO, I don't
think that's going to happen anytime soon.

[S] barbarian spellcaster - Fip the Level 29 Chieftain's got In:21 and Wi:23, but still he's casting Magic Missile at 100% failure (no metal armor, etc.). Why do Barbarians get a couple classes of unrestricted spellcasting if they can't use it? Am I overlooking something? ..
