Ok, I love almost all genres except sports and racing (with certain
exceptions, e.g. F-Zero on my GBA-SP). So no footy games or Gran Turismo
types - yeah? Plus I really cannot see the point in FPS's on a
non-portable console (unless you can persuade me different). I'd rather
play them with a mouse and kb on my Mac or PC any day.

So what games should I buy right now for a new GC? I won't have much of
a chance to play online, so games like PSO (I've heard it's got a weak
SP mode) are likely pointless - right? Plus I'm way behind the times
here.

Also, would anyone care to comment on Animal Crossing? Is there any
point in getting the GC version since I'll likely be getting a NDS
eventually? Still, I'm not wasting my money if I do get AC am I? It has
a good SP mode if I'm understanding the reviews properly.

TIA,
Jamie Kahn Genet

Soul Calibur 2 is worth a look if you like that sort of thing. I
bought the Gamecube primarily for that game alone.

I then discovered Eternal Darkness (after being recommended in here),
you can get it for as little as £5 over here and it's more then worth
the money.

Also Mario Kart and Super Monkey Ball 1 or 2. They're good in single
player and great in multiplayer.

There are some quite good games in the Players Choice range for some
very reasonable prices.

If you ever change your mind about sports and racing I'd recommend Ace
Golf (again around a fiver over here) and Need For Speed Underground
(I want to finish the first one before I get the second).

Animal Crossing is a lot of fun - worth getting even if you are going to
pickup DS version in September.

Other games I would recommend:

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy - great game and way cheap now
Zelda Windwaker
Prince of Persia unless you already have for another system
Beyond Good and Evil
Tales of Symphonia
Paper Mario
Donkey Konga

NFSU imo is a poor mans Burnout with some Gran turismo type upgrades
with a chav twist , & sadly whilst the joy that is burnout 3 isnt on the
GC (somebody shoot the people at EA who decided this) Burnout 2 is the
better game.
