When I first read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
all other books just didn't compare to it for me. (Though I did like the
Dilbert principle by that other Adams guy). Same with World of Warcraft.
Why go play a game like Starcraft or Oblivion when you can be online
with other people? Might also be a usenet addiction that is getting in
the way. Or living on my own so I don't have to get away from the rest
of the family in the evening.
Could be anything! But I am happy with my life right now and the
possibility of playing World of Warcraft again in a matter of hours!

I started because of a friend who pushed me. He stopped about a month
later. Then with someone from secondary school with RSI who had been an
Ultima Online addict and wanted my free 10 day pass, but he kept lagging
behind because of his RSI (couldn't play as long as us). Then I stopped
(after my second main) but I kept in touch by e-mail with one of my old
in game friends and when he started a new hardcore RP guild I of course
wanted to join (with my priest) and the RSI guy also joined again (I
asked him to) and I leveled my first character along with his new one
while I leveled my priest for the RP guild.
Then one of the founding members of the RP guild got burned out from the
game (I hope I hadn't anything to do with that) and the guild just fell
apart and the e-mail friend deleted even his character (the guild
master!!!) after being drunk I suspect. So I stopped playing.
And then there was a few months of very intense playing with the first
friend who got me playing somewhere in between with lots of low level
instances (over and over again), but he stopped as suddenly as he began.
Sometimes he gets mad when I bring it up. Sometimes not but I am more
careful now and never suggest he starts playing again (he was a very
hardcore Diablo II player, don't know what level, he sold his character
to a friend who is extremely WoW hardcore and we sometimes go visit to
see BWL or any of the other instances).
Harg, long story. And I am not sure it is finished yet.
But this is the time that you get to know yourself Catriona!
