Did any of you have one of those guys who were TOO curious to game with?
This one guy & I (it rhymes) were romping around in one dungeon when we came
up to the "dreaded room with a flame pit and a lever on the wall." Yes, he
pulled the lever just when I was in the vicinity of the pit. End result:
one well-done ranger and one slightly boint fool. Wink[

Rangers can make jerky out of animals they kill.

Do not, ever, under any circumstances, let the ranger make undead
hellhound jerky. Even "just to see what it tastes like."

Hehe, yes and most nastily with lots of blood and/or bodyparts. Wink[ Yup,
done that, and got to see my partially membered body shoved in a gopher
hole.

One time I was in a group that had ended up in Ravenloft. I was playing a
cleric there and I had come up against a Wight or some other relatively
low-level undead. I had tried to turn it, hey it was a first reaction. I
was granted some low-level evil dudes to help me because I had delighted
some very high level evil dude (caunt remember the name). Lol, did I ever
look foolish.

That reminds me of an instance where, for reasons that I still don't
understand, the lawful fighter leaves two chaotic (and both slightly
disturbed) characters in a room with an entire wall of buttons with explicit
instructions not to touch any of them.

The one character turns to the other and says "you better not let me push
any of those buttons", the other character ponders a moment and retorts
"okay, I'll push one first, then you can push one".

It's quite surprising that they survived, actually.

(I was playing one of the chaotic characters... that character never did
fear death... yet somehow always survived.)

We were in a high-level game in which we had, a few times too many, suffered
the "bad guy teleports away to fight again" result in a fight. This time,
though, we were prepared - we knew the fight that was coming (a
half-fiendish Ancient Wyrm white dragon), and were prepared to do everything
to prevent her escape this time - both my cleric and the wizard had prepared
Dimensional Anchor, and one of us would make sure to cast it early in the
battle. I even declared "Just make sure she can't possibly 'port out this
time!"

We set up ready for the fight, the spellcasters riding NPC mature gold
dragon allies, with a Gated-in gold dragon wyrm as backup, and the white
dragon arrived on time - with a brood of fiendish half-dragon frost giant
offspring to help her, all of them invisible. Suddenly we didn't seem to
have quite the same edge we thought we did, so when my turn comes around, I
decide to soften up Momma with a Prismatic Spray. I pass her SR, and roll a
7, the DM rolls a really poor saving throw.

DM: "So, what does a 7 do?"

Me: "Um... oh, bugger. Sent to another plane."

Next round, the wizard is really taking a beating from the remaining
half-dragons, so I pull out another big gun - Holy Word. The DM confirms
that yes, they're somewhat below my level, so I reel off the range of
conditions they're now suffering.

Then I read down the spell description, and see something I'd missed.

Me: "Um... they're not extraplanar, right?"

DM: "Yeah. Why, what happens?"

Me: "They, ah... they get sent back to their native plane."

Other players: "What?!?"

So basically, having set out to do our utmost to prevent any of the villains
from getting away this time, I managed to accidentally send all of them very
far away in just two rounds.

LOLOLOLOLOL. That was cool.

I'd be either wanting w/ all my might to start pushing buttons or not
wanting to, for fear that I'd cause a horde of zombie kobolds to come and
kick my shins. Wink[
