Ayup, I've both used that one and had it used on me several times.
Other useful emotes for cross-faction communication include /ponder to

Why bother sending the pet in when there's always the chance you won't
aggro the Worm? I just run for the cell, if I aggro the Worm Tony (set
on defensive, of course) picks him up after the first hit. If I aggro
a second (yeah, it's happened once or twice) I run back to Tony and
Feign, now he has both on him. I have to agree that this one's
probably easier for a Hunter than for any non-pet class, but Aspect of
the Wild? I *never* use it except in certain instance fights, Tony
*rarely* needs a heal unless he manages to get 3 Worms on him.

SSO dailies have brought out the absolute worst in the player base,
IMO, same faction or not. Everyone just wants to get the tedium over
as quickly as possible, to hell with politeness. It's subsided
somewhat now that the initial mad rush is over.

Not on my realm. I have decided to not do the SSO dailies in
Quel'Danas simply because the people out there seem hell bent on
preventing other players from doing the quests. Specifically along
the Greengill Coast. For some reason, every time I head down that
way, there are groups of alliance and horde attacking each other, and
anyone who attempts to do any of the quests. Then of course, there
are the idiots who attack you in the middle of town (I could
understand if I was standing on a quest giver and it was an accident,
but that seems to rarely happen) and get themselves butchered by the
guards. I think its because I am a warlock and they are hoping my pet
is on defensive so it attacks back and thus gets me killed. I figured
out that little trick a long time ago, and keep my pet on passive
almost all the time now.

What does all that mean? It means I am not contributing at all to my
servers progression.

Aside from mana cells, another thing that happened to me recently: the
ones in HFP where you have to convert the elves to their corrupted
selves, then kill them. I've used one of my badges to convert an elf,
he stunned, and a hunter sat there waiting for it to change form
before shooting and tagging it immediatley afterwards, thereby getting
credit for the kill. After that I had to start throwing up a DoT on
them and letting it tick once before initiating the conversion.

The sad thing was this hunter was tagged to the most progressed and
respected guild on our server. It was really disappointing to see
them doing that.

This makes me glad, yet again, that I'm on a PvE server. Yes, there are
mana cell ninjas, and the other night there was a Horde standing over a
quest giver to try to force PvP (which was working until he was reported and
banned, I believe), but most of the stuff on the island is okay. I don't
think most people even notice who's Horde and who's Alliance. Or maybe
that's just me.

Still, there's a lot of cooperation, ass-saving, and moving on to the next
mob.

But Cat, they don't want to PvP. They want to grief. They're not
attacking you once you click on them (at least not if they're like the
"geniuses" on my server), they let you flag, perform a hostile action,
and get mutilated by the guards. They've caused you a repair bill and
up to 5 minutes of lost time, if you wait to de-flag. Griefing
accomplished.

People are so frickin' lazy, I get that sort of thing all the time. I just
stop and they can either help me kill the mob or I'll wait until they move
onto the next sucker. Last night my son and I was in the new area, this
warlock would take our pull after he'd (he's a priest) dotted the npc
up....my rogue is a new 70 so not well geared yet. He cussed the guy out
finally after he did this to us several times, first over by the portal,
then the naga area....and he got banned for 3 hours from playing. Man was
he mad. I really think that blizzard needs to make it so people can't do
that. I know it would probably be a coding nightmare but still....there's
no sense of honor nor fair play with lazy thieves doing what they do. Of
course my son's temper was not appropriate either but it gets frustrating to
have some lazy moron steal your work.

The other night I flew up to Blade's Edge to do the SSO daily there.
I picked a spot that seemed to have no other players in the area. I
had gotten lucky on a previous day and got 2 phasing devices, so I was
able to instantly phase.

I phase and get attacked instantly by a worm. No big deal. I see a
NE rogue also fighting a worm, but he seems to be heading a different
direction than I was planning to go.

So I pull the next worm from next to a mana cell. While I am fighting
the worm, the NE unstealths and takes the cell, then stealths again.
Next pull, same thing. I'm not itching for a PvP fight, and I know as
soon as he has 10, he's going to stab me in the back, so I' not going
to help him. Mounted and flew to another spot.

Being already phased I was able to pick a spot free of other phased
players. I land, kill a few mobs, grab a few cells, when an orc
hunter comes in and starts doing the exact same thing the NE did. I
stopped, mounted, flew up just a little bit, waited for him to pull a
worm, then landed and did what he did to me. After that he left the
area, leaving me to gather cells in peace.

The quest really isn't that hard, kill the worms (which have a high
drop rate for motes of mana), grab the cells. No need to ninja
someone else's work.

actually I have noticed the same thing. This morning I was in flight to
nagrand and was disconnected. When I was trying to reconnect, it said that
that server already had a char by that name. I was like duh, ya think? But
it logged me in and I was still in flight. Very strange. I have a very
good computer, 2 gigs RAM and comcast connection.......but I'm getting
disconnects around once a day since the 2.3 patch.....

I have noticed recently that I seem to be getting DCed a lot more than
ever.

At any rate, I am Horde and the Warrior was Alliance - and that's what
made it worse. There was no way I could explain myself or convey my
apologies. I would have even traded the stuff from the chest (was a
Star Ruby and some food).

Of course, this is assuming my analysis of the situation was correct,
but I tend to assume it was. My Shadow Priest doesn't even have great
gear, and killing things is super-easy. I've played characters that
have it hard against more than one mob, know how frustrating it is to
see what you want, like a Chest or a vein, but knowing that you simply
can't kill any faster. I understand that until level 70 with nice
gear, Warriors are very much like that.

Yeah my server's a pve realm thankfully but all the time during the first
few weeks there'd be pvp flagged players hanging out right on top of the
NPCs, just trying to get you to misclick... sigh. Luckily most people
weren't doing that but it was still a significant minority. I always wonder
why people like that don't just go and play on a pvp realm if they want to
pvp so badly. For all the 2-3 weeks it'd take to reroll and reach 70...

True but half these people are in pvp guilds, so if the whole guild
rerolled, problem solved... they'd be on a pvp server, and the rest of us
wouldn't have to put up with them. Of course I suspect that they don't do
it because they aren't actually good enough for a pvp server, they'd rather
be the playground bullies on a pve one.

I'm on a pvp server but I regreat I can't kill my own faction too Sad

2 days ago I was doing that quest and when I had 4 left a lock from my
faction comes close while I was fighting a mob, clearly near a mana cell and
loots it... it's something I would not do even to the opposite faction.
I /w him "that was VERY rude to loot that in front of me" and he replied "ah
watcha gonna do" I think written exactly like that.
So I showed him what can I do about it, I flied near him and I had epic
mount (he didnt) and every time he went down to kill mobs to get a cell I
would loot in front of him, he even got involved in a fight with 3-4 mobs
near like 3 cells so I looted all the cells and cheered a bit on the mobs
that almost killed him. I was polite before leaving to thank him for all the
mobs that he cleared for me and informing him my quest was complete Smile

I had same kind of disconnects a while ago.. I used them for my advantage and buffed DC:d char with my other char Smile

I think those DC problems stopped when I deleted WTF -folder (I think it was that one..you better check that out though) .. of course after that I had to restore all my settings. I wouldn't want to do that again anytime soon Wink

I do much the same with Lucrezia, my poison-happy scorpid from SMV.

I'd been wondering when to use AotW, this sounded useful. Lucrezia doesn't
have the armor of NotKosher, my plague swine, so she takes a bit more TLC.
