I wondered about that video. I have a PS3 and have never seen pop-up
like that in 20+ hours of gameplay, although I will admit I haven't
been in a helicopter yet. I rarely see pop-up at all.
From all the videos I've seen the 360 version is sharper while the PS3
seems to have better explosions. Both are nice-looking games with
lots of objects and real-time lighting and shadows. >> Stay informed about: Eurogamer: 360 > PS3 GTA4 |

No offense but this can't be correct. There is no way that the X360
version of GTAIV runs at a higher resolution *and* at a higher
framerate. My guess is these figures are reversed and it's the PS3
version with the more stable framerate (albeit lower res). >> Stay informed about: Eurogamer: 360 > PS3 GTA4 |

You think they might have been able to lock the frame rate in at a rock
solid 30?
The frame rate is my biggest gripe with the game. I can live with some of
the glitches because the game is so big in scope. When you are driving it
goes from good, bad to omg someone hand me that waste basket quick cause I
am going to hurl, back to good again. This game has SERIOUS frame drops at
the worst possible times.
I got so sucked into the story that I kept going back again and again but I
did get some headaches and a swirling stomach at times.
By the time you get half way through the game it gets very repetitive. If
not for the story I would have stopped playing when I unlocked the whole
city. The humor is what keeps me going back after I completed the game.
Did you break down and get it? >> Stay informed about: Eurogamer: 360 > PS3 GTA4 |

Most places in the UK (that did't try to charge £50 for them) sold out of
both and are still selling out of both when they get new stock in. So trying
to compare sales figures is a bit pointless until supply is stable. >> Stay informed about: Eurogamer: 360 > PS3 GTA4 |

That still doesn't take away from the fact that the 360 (remember I was
talking about Europe, not just the UK) has about 1 million 360s in home than
the PS3 does, yet the PS3 version of GTAIV sold about 250K more than the 360
version. >> Stay informed about: Eurogamer: 360 > PS3 GTA4 |

why not, i mean by all accounts the machine was developed on 360
primarily, then ported to the PS3, so it stands to reason that the 360
version would be the more refined (for want of a better term).

well all that tells you is they released 250k more copies on PS3 in
europe.

Keep struggling, I find it odd that you struggle considering the topic of
the thread.
Your observation that 250K more were released for the PS3 is incorrect
considering that Europe was a huge sales point for the previous versions,
which were primarily PS. >> Stay informed about: Eurogamer: 360 > PS3 GTA4 |

Yes it dose!
If both sold out (they did) then the difference in sales figures has nothing
to do with userbase but availability. >> Stay informed about: Eurogamer: 360 > PS3 GTA4 |

no, i'm struggling to figure out why anyone cares if one version has
sold more than the other, unless they work for sony or microsoft
themselves.

what?
i mean, again, what?
so because they have previously sold only on PS, they DIDN'T release
more PS3 copies to the european market?
is that really what you're trying to say?
both versions appeared to sell out, if one sold more than the other,
pure logic dictates that there were more copies of that version on the
shelves!
it's not rocket science.

i can't believe i'm about to do this, but.......
he didn't track down or type anything, he copy and pasted it.
his motives behind doing so are obvious, but it's not like he spent a
great amount of time doing it.
*feels wrong*
