ah, but once you get a voidwalker, that imp of yours will never see the light
of day again... Smile and voidwalkers don't have a whole lot to say.

The succubus is nearly as annoying as the imp with the constant whip-cracking
effect. You'd think they could add a little bit of variety, or add a way to
turn it off. Much of the time I've avoided the succubus simply due to the
annoying effects.

Actually Mages are often wanted for their crowd control skills. I ran a
mage till level 30 and then dropped him though.

My current active stable includes:

- Rogue (highest level. As my enchanter, I needed him above the rest, so
he is currently 59 and will probably hit 60 tomorrow)

All the rest are levl 48, and are played in rotation till they hit the
next even level, always in full rest mode:

- Priest
- Hunter
- Shaman
- Palladin

You'd be surprised... "LF mage heroic X", when my rogue wants a go, sigh.

Still haven't got an "ideal" character, ended up with three that I love Wink
Started out with a rogue, levelled it to 40 through the hell that was a pvp
server before quitting the game in disgust. After a while I decided to give
WoW another go, and figured I liked the rogue class enough to want to give
it another go, hopefully learning a lot more about my class and being less
of a noob. Reached 60 fairly fast, got plenty of soloing done and a few
5-mans, even some odd ZG runs, though I was pretty out of my depth in them.
Started to run out of stuff to do, but played other characters for a bit to
fill the gap to TBC. Come TBC, I levelled to 70, still having a blast,
started on 5-mans, but soon found the ever-present problem of too many
dpsers, so was hard to get groups. I ended up fairly stuck with blue gear
as good as I could get, and hard to get many runs anyway.

Meanwhile, I'd tried most classes, but the one that got furthest and
surprised me the most was my undead priest, who I'd expected not to enjoy,
yet suddenly I was in the 40s and levelling fast, then the 50s and finally
60. I levelled all the way as disc/holy, as shadow just didn't seem "right"
to me, yet it didn't feel slow and was still really fun to play, as well as
helping me in my first attempts at healing in groups. I realised I loved
the class and wanted an Alliance one to group with guildmates, considered a
dwarf but then I heard about the new races coming in TBC and knew I'd want
to try them. Saw the artwork for the draenei and thought "that looks cool,
can they be priests?" Yes, they can was the answer, so I held off on the
dwarf until more info came out.

More screenies and I liked the look even better, then came the day I found
the TBC beta key in my mail... very first thing I did was create a draenei
priest and fell in love immediately. Levelled to 20 on beta, this even
before the racials were announced, and knew I had to make this character on
live. TBC release came, I held off levelling my new priest until my rogue
reached 70, but once that was done I just had to play her, and soon found
myself levelling far faster than I'd expected, again as holy/disc (draenei
being so holy, shadow felt totally wrong, so I never went more than 7
points into it), suddenly I was level 60, less than a month after release.
At this point I slowed a little, as I duoed 60-70 with a friend, but grew
to like the character more and more as I gained experience in healing.

My first Karazhan experience; I was undergeared and scared as heck, but
somehow got through it and gained confidence over later runs until I really
felt I knew what I was doing. First Gruul experience was much the same,
only by this time I was very well-geared indeed so at least knew I wasn't
lacking statswise. Right now I'm at a bit of a dead end, having done
everything available to me; my only options are wait for ZA or go into
serious 25-man raids, but with how hardcore my guild is in 25-mans I'd have
to change guild to do that so... kinda stuck. Oh and meanwhile the undead
priest isn't totally abandoned, he tried shadow for a level but never
enjoyed it, so went back to holy, which I suspect he'll stay as for a long
while - it's so nice levelling and doing 5-mans as holy again.

After the rogue and priest got fairly maxed out at lvl 70, I thought I'd
pick up a warlock for some fun, having duoed with one on my priest for some
time... found I really enjoyed the class and ended up levelling this one
really fast as well, to the point of now being lvl 70 and working on
gearing up. Annoying thing is he'll soon hit the same dead end the other
two have, with the addition of good groups being hard to find so not much
scope for fun groups, but oh well.

Of the alts, the hunter was a fun one as well, though he mainly got as far
as 70 because I needed a gatherer alt and he fitted the bill nicely - BM is
a very powerful build, albeit perhaps not the most exciting, except when it
comes to soloing elite quests. Haven't tried to seriously gear him, I felt
a bit out of my depth in 5-mans, though maybe I'll try the odd pug when my
lock's geared up. Mage was the 2nd class to appeal to me, but for some
reason never fully worked out for me, she just keeps on getting stuck and
levelling slowly. Fire as a build is a blast, love big pyro crits, can't
really understand why this character hasn't got higher tbh!

Paladin was awful at first, retri simply does not suit me and I hated it
(been a rogue too long to enjoy the sloooow swings of 2h weapons).
Eventually discovered the prot levelling build at the point where I needed
a few more levels for 300+ alchemy, and instantly loved it. She's a bit
stuck at the moment as I'm concentrating on other characters, but she'll be
my next 70, unless the undead priest beats her to it, I think - tanking is
the one aspect of the game which I've not done much and I'd like to try
with a pally given how good some pally tanks I've healed are.

Speaking of tanking, my little warrior (I just had to make a gnome female
with pink bunches for comedy value!) has moved very slowly indeed, trying
to level as prot in the teens wasn't my best ever idea, and my dislike of
2h weapons didn't make it any better when I respecced, until I hit 20 and
went dual-wield fury. This build is at least fun, but feels very
gear-dependent; I die way too easily when I get adds, too.

As for other classes, well druid and shaman just never appealed much to me;
I knew nothing about shammies, being alliance, and I'm not really sure why
I didn't like the druid much. Tauren animal forms didn't help much (much
prefer the nelf cat), but unfortunately I dislike night elf "human" form,
so can't really win there. Shaman I might get somewhere with sometime if I
get around to it, having grouped with them a bit enhancement looks
interesting to try, anyway, but given that I've so far failed to get above
lvl 5, it may take a while. However I love the draenei start zones and
haven't done them in ages so probably I'll try soon.

I started with a paladin. I love the idea of being able to kick butt
like a warrior and still be able to heal myself. I'm an old player of
D&D for a long time. Clear back to SSI's games and the M&M games.
Course now he was just one player and no ranged spells. So at lvl 12
I decided to get me one of those guys wearing cloth and with the big
blue guy to help me out. One thing i liked about him in westfall is
he'd send in the vw and then dot the dude up and fear him. This is
not a good idea to do if there are other mobs around. Well i soon
found i was getting my clock cleaned regularly as i was demo speced at
lvl 44 so i went affliction. I was totallly happy. I'm now a lvl 70
warlock and have other toons but love the warlock.

I tried mages but at lvl 20 she kept dying so i dumped her and went to
a BE warlock. I'd be playing her but I've found good purple armor in
the BG's so my warlock is there.

I got a lvl 7 hunter, druid, lvl 28 priestess. I still love the
warlock and he was a solo player most of the time.

Actually a warlock is nothing like a hunter. He has no power close up
like a hunter has and once you get 21 talent points into demo you get
demon sacrifice and can sacrifice your pet for added stats. For the
most part I don't use the pet. So i'd be like a hunter without the
pet. Try that for a few lvls.

Well the grass is always greener...

I was pursuaded to try the game by some RL friends, and I then looked a
bit at the classes. I knew they needed a healer, so I looked a bit at
the official information for the classes that could heal, while I
installed the game. The priest didn't sound like a class that could do
well soloing, so I was left with the Shaman and Druid. By the
description, the Druid sounded rather complicated, and having to change
shape all the time didn't sound like that much fun, so I picked a
Shaman.

I kept playing my shammy all the way to 60, but did make both a Mage and
a Warlock, that I played a bit for fun, mainly because they seemed like
much more effective at soloing. I didn't like them that much in
instances though. I liked to heal with my shammy though, and I loved
it's versitality in 5-10 man instances.

When my guild started raiding, we soon learned that we had way too few
Priests, and now I knew that they could easily handle themself solo, so
I started powerleveling one, and had guildies pull me through instances
for both fast XP and better items, to make soloing easier.

I already knew how to heal, so I wasn't concerned not being able to do
the job, when I was needed to do so in raid instances.

The next char I started was a Druid, and it was only ment to solo, or
actually to solo-farm and make money to my other chars, so I gave it
mining and skinning. I started to like playing it too, so now it's lvl
51 and doing jewelcrafting. I only play it at rested points though.

I have also started a Hunter, it was mainly done because I would like to
play the BE starting area, but I really loved playing it, and it's now
lvl 52 and the char I play the most.

I think I'll still call my Priest for my main char. simply because I
think it's the most fun to play in groups, and my Hunter is the most fun
to solo with. I do however intend to level up both my Mage and Warlock
too, but it will most likely only be for the diversity and to do PvP,
because they are the only classes I have liked playing in BG.

The very first character I created was my dwarf. He's 70 and still my main.
I'm not sure I'd call a warrior dull. For solo play protection can get
pretty boring, however tanking has always held my interest.

The alts I actually play are a 47 hunter, 31 priest, 27 mage, and a level 23
lock.

A human palladin,

as a D&Der from way back, i have always like the palladin, before getting

is now a 70(tank), and has been for some time (6-8 months (not long after BC
cam out hit 60 mark and then quickly to 70)
nowe i have rolled other toons,
a second pally (healer) currently 51, my foray into healing, (wanted to
learn with a class that i already the spells of

not)
osobank my 16 rogue, /bank (open all the lock boxes need to be a higher
level though)

OsoSober
Darkspear
Egbard Human Prot/ret Tank Pally 70
Ardemous Human holy Healer Pally 51
Starcia human 17 aff Lock (not currently being played)

I started with a Druid because I joined a guild and they said they needed
druids and since I was new to the game I did not mind what to roll. That
guild disbanded due to indifferences about whether to stay casual or go
more hardcore. I still talk to the guild-master from time to time on
Messenger. (he knows much about the game, so he helps me out a lot Smile ).

I played the druid to about level 25 and then I grew tired of him. I tried
some other classes (don't remember how many) and none of them very high.

Then a new server was introduced in Europe (Aerie Peak) and I got the
chance to join a fresh reroll-guild which intended to raid alot. I picked a
priest and this was my first char to ding 60 (before TBC). Unfortunately
the guild disbanded after a while (I still got friends in the guild which I
regularly talk to about a year after it disbanded).

Then I knew that healing classes were my call, and I have leveled a paladin
to 60 as well and right now I am working on a druid (level 38 currently).

My first to ding 70 was a undead mage on Hellfire-EU.

I have many, many <level 20 alts. I seem to be an "alt-aholic" and it
really takes a lot of me to level a char past 30, but when they get past 30
I usually level them all the way.

My next "project" is a warrior since I have not much experience with melee
chars and since I heard so many times that in order to be a good healer you
should know a bit about warriors playstyle as well.

After reading about the different classes in the game manual I
decided to roll a rogue. I really liked the playstyle of this
sneaky melee fighter and didn't even try any another class until
she was lvl 60+. Now I also have a lvl 46 warlock and a low-level
priest, mage, and since yesterday also a gnome warior, but in my
opinion the rogue is by far the most fun class to play (I have
three).

Warriors can be one of the most complicated classes to play, juggling
stances and abilities.

Not every warrior is a tank, and mages and warlocks (and hunters) are
often specifically sought after for both their dps and CC abilities in
higher level instances.
