All Right. To you then, lots of programs are rootkits as many of them will behave like
that if you try to remove them the wrong way. There isn't really any need to remove
folders just to remove Securom, the uninstallation will do that automatically.
If something went wrong with your installation of the game so that the uninstallation
doesn't work, then it may be necessary to remove it manually but a successful
reinstallation of the game should fix the uninstallation also.
I've installed and reinstalled the Securom expansions on many computers without any
problems with uninstalling. There is no Securom folders, services or registry entries left
over. >> Stay informed about: FreeTime and sims' inability to autonomously prepare food .. |

I was just wondering if SecuROM is the right word to use for searching. I
did a search on my computer and came up with nothing. Did I do it correctly?
thanks...LS >> Stay informed about: FreeTime and sims' inability to autonomously prepare food .. |

There shouldn't be any need to search. When you uninstall the game, Securom should also be
uninstalled.
If not, you could try this: Open a command prompt, type "uaservice7 /remove". If that
doesn't work you may have to remove it manually. A google search for remove Securom will
tell you how to do it. The latest version of Securom should have a file called
uaservice7.exe, and one called cmdlineext.dll, they're found in windows\system32.
There are also earlier versions of Securom which will have to be removed in different
ways. >> Stay informed about: FreeTime and sims' inability to autonomously prepare food .. |

There's a stickied thread over at MATY - in The Podium - that tells you
exactly how to do it. And whatever Strider says, it doesn't uninstall
itself when you uninstall the game. I know this because I have two games
that use it and if it did do that, one game would complain and possibly not
run if I uninstalled the other.
Best wishes
