I think that you could do this because I think that you can use the
targetting functions out of combat. If that is right you could cycle
the target next enemy function to find out which one has the
appropriate target. You could also cycle through raid members and
check if their targets have the raid symbol. One method wouldn't work
if the mob was out of tab target range and the second method wouldn't
work if nobody had it targetted so you'd probably want to use both
methods to give the addon the best chance of finding the target.

I don't believe that can be done either. *

even if you are out of combat, does anyone know it there is a way of
automatically targetting (or even better setting your focus ) to a
particular raid symbol marked mob? I ask because with some groups if I
miss the point where the party leader marks my particular responsibility
(so target the leader and hit "F") it can be a right PITA to select it
and in some instances the Tab targetting seems to pick up the whole damn
area before settling on the one I need.

No. There used to be a way, but it was removed prior to BC due to massive
abuse by addons. *

I thought that a restriction was put on them so that they couldn't be
used in combat but I've just tried TargetNearestFriend() and it
wouldn't work from the command line, from a macro or from an addon via
a keybinding. (I tried all three because they have slightly different
rules)

help with a macro? - Hi guys. So I've been playing WoW since Tuesday and I'm having a great time so far! Now, I'm trying to automate something that has become a regular occurrence for me when I log on. Is it possible to write a macro that does these things: cast Frost..

macro help - I have this macro that I wrote: /castsequence reset=3 Thorns, Mark of the Wild How can I edit it so that it will only cast MotW (and skip Thorns) if I hold down the shift key while pressing the hotkey? Thanks.

A little macro help - I have this macro to cast on myself: /castsequence [modifier:Shift] Power Word: Fortitude; reset=5 Touch of Weakness, Inner Fire, Power Word: Fortitude How do I need to modify this so that if I have a friendly target selected, I can use the same..

Macro help - Right now I have this macro: /castsequence [modifier:Shift] Power Word: Fortitude; reset=5 Inner FIre, Power Word: Fortitude I use the modifier so I can cast PW:F on other players. But is there a way for me to simply be able to press the macro key..
