Actually I did it. I had the old guy as the last one before the big pic.

I'm stuck again now though. Where I take a sword and the room fills with
gas.

Better than what I got on my first attempt! Ironically CV is the
easiest Resident Evil, even on hard mode.

I never had much luck playing it on the Dreamcast, but the Gamecube
port takes advantage of having a muchy more comfy joypad.

Really? You think so? I don't aggree. I find it the second hardest.
The easiest is RE2, followed by RE1, then zero, then 4, then CV and the
hardest in my humble opinion is RE3. I finished all the games, but
Nemesis still gives me goosebumps when he's coming. My sister laughs
so hard because even when SHE is playing RE3 and I know he's coming, I
tense up and I relax only when he's either dead or lost looool.

Are you joking? Code eronica is one of te more difficult RE games. Although
3 is propably the hardest.

2 is by far the easiest.

That tofu game in RE2 is the hardest mini-game. Started playing the
mini-game in Code Veronica, but I have infinite ammo! Seems a bit easy
therefore. Any other mini games which can be accessed by getting a better
grade in the main game?

I found the RE:make the most difficult, followed by RE3. I'm quite good
at RE3, and if it wasn't for the replay factor (Unlockable stuff) I
probably wouldn't have played it that much. The Mercenaries mini-game
was worth it too.

I agree with you there, Capcom really toned down the puzzles and made
it much more straightforward than the original RE.

RE3 is the most fun...but only after you acquire the rocket launcher
w/infinite ammo. I just love having Jill V. bump into Nemesis, and
projecting a rocket or two into his miserable face. It almost makes up
for all the misery I endured in my first playthrough. It took me
forever to get through the battle at the Clocktower. Nemesis is truly a
bastard.

I still occasionally go back to RE3 for a knife or handgun-only run.
Times of just over 2 hours are very possible with just the knife, the
main time consumers are the two big Nemesis fights (Although most of
the others can be skilfully avoided, like the first police station one).

I like using a Spy Vs. Spy-style ambush on him using the Mine Thrower
(The one without infinite ammo - the regular one behaves slightly
differently).

Poor Nemmy doesn't know what's hit him half the time <big smug smirk>

HEATHEN!

Rules of appreciating RE:
1. Do not speak lowly of RE2
2. DO NOT SPEAK LOWLY OF RE2!!

Smile

.... 3. Do not ask where the locked door with no bottom goes in RE2, as I
will kill you.

Nah, just run from him..
As long as you know how long he follows you for - you can run away and
even get him to kill off a couple of zombies for you.

I haven't played REmake or RE:zero (or CV), but they look the hardest
IMO - especially what I've heard about REmake (those special zombies
that come back after popping their heads - red-heads?).

I've been told several times the original CV / PS2 port were the easiest
from the series.. Whether the port to the Gamecube has changed them in
any way I'm not sure.

I don't know why people didn't figure that out sooner. As I spent a lot
of time (And then some!) playing as Jill in the original, I opted for
Claire's first and second scenario over Leon's and spotted the scene
where Sherry runs down the corridor and through that very hole. It's
not a massive intuitive leap to see that using the in-game map either!

I always hoped that a ventilation system might be have been used in the
RPD precinct for Sherry to run around in a` la Newt in Aliens, but that
might have been a too obvious parodies (The whole "Little girl lost"
thing is too obvious as it is IMHO).

I only noticed him doing this in numerous replays. I thought it might
have been a one off outside the electric plant thing where he uses his
rocket launcher.

Now that's an interesting plot point. Where does Nemmy disappear to to
re-acquire a rocket launcher and/or ammo throughout the game? When he
uses it and runs out of ammo it's discarded, but then he has another
one for the Clock Tower fight....

RE0 is one of my favourites as it strikes the right balance between a
tense and atmospheric third-person action game and something requiring
a little (Or sometimes a *lot*) or logic. It makes me wish that Capcom
would use the remarkably effective character switching system on
something as a stop-gap before RE5, but that's not going to happen.

RE:make was a little hard for me as it seems too much of an
evolutionary leap from the original. Still one hell of a game, and the
invisible mode and Real Survivor (Amongst other things) add incredibly
to the replayability.

Those Crimson Heads are dead easy to avoid once you get used to them,
plus when you're out of the mansion (Which takes about 20 minutes) you
won't see many of them for the rest of the game in a
straight-to-the-finish run.

> I've been told several times the original CV / PS2 port were the easiest

I'm not too sure that anything was changed for the Gamecube port. It
seems to be a full copy of CV:X. I do like the controls though, much
less buttons which makes me less likely to do something stupid when in
a tight spot....

Rob
