I all time favorite line in any Resident Evil game has got to be in the
original, PS version of the first. Barry's line to Jill as he hands her
the lockpick: "Here, you better take this. After all, you're the
Master of Unlocking."
What I wanna know is, if she's the Master of Unlocking, why didn't she
have the lockpick from the start?
Then there's Jill's line to Wesker near the end: "How can you and
Umbrella intimidate Barry ... by taking his family hostage?"
Well, you just answered your own question, Jill. How can they
intimidate Barry? By taking his family hostage! Sheesh!
Ah, good times. I have to admit, I miss the cheesy lines as well. I
also miss the 'three' in the beginning of RE3: Nemesis. Everyone know
what I mean? When you hit start in Resident Evil 2, the game says, in a
deep, foreboding voice: "Resident Evil (pausepausepause) TWO!" But when
you hit start in the third game, it just says (in the same deep,
foreboding voice): "Resident Evil!" I keep waiting for the pause and
"THREE!" or "NEMESIS!" In fact, I want it so badly, I usually say it
aloud myself.
Did I mention I'm lame? >> Stay informed about: ok i give in HHHHEEELLLPPPPPP please! |

I don't know about lame, but you're certainly funny. I'm glad to know I'm
not the only one to fill in missing dialogue in video (pausepausepause)
games.

What I really miss the most is living in the same city as my brother,
because he liked playing RE games almost as much as I do. He'd come
over on Saturdays, and we'd play RE together...which usually meant him
playing, and me kibitzing. If I remember right, he actually bought me
the first RE (Director's Cut) for the Playstation, and I know for sure
that he bought me 3. In fact, he was the first to comment on the lack
of (pausepausepause) THREE!
I think that might be why I don't play as often now, even though I have
a Gamecube and all these new games. The novelty wore off, and my
brother's not here to keep it all interesting. Ah well. A new RE game
will come out someday, and I'll be obsessed again! >> Stay informed about: ok i give in HHHHEEELLLPPPPPP please! |

I can watch someone play a game for hours that I've already played to death,
and get just as much enjoyment out of their advances and losses as if I were
playing the game again for the first time. It's amusing to watch someone
jump out of their skin at the same points in the game that I did. Funny, how
it only takes one more person to keep it all interesting. Perhaps it's
because they catch things you've missed. A new RE game won't be coming out
soon enough for my liking. I'm suffering from zombie withdrawal.

From everything I've heard, it doesn't sound like there will be any
zombies in future RE games, which is a real shame. I got used to the
new gameplay, the over-the-shoulder POV, even the treasure hunting. But
the tentacle-headed creeps and chainsaw-toting maniacs are just no
replacement for good ol' fashioned undead! >> Stay informed about: ok i give in HHHHEEELLLPPPPPP please! |

I love the new RE gameplay style, but I would dearly love to see an
unlockable mini game which included the old zombies "a-la-hunk-4th
survivor-RE2", or "RE2's extreme battle". Perhaps these new god like gaming
consoles will be able to support an entire unlockable RE-make for one to
play through. I sure do miss the ol' fashioned undead, but I am grateful
that Capcom removed the ridiculous amount of back tracking you had to do to
get puzzles solved. *whew*

I don't miss the back-tracking either! And I really like the huge
amount of inventory-carrying space you can acquire (that is, purchase).
I just wish there was a way to stockpile things you can't carry, like
in RE-Zero -- except make it unlimited, instead of that silly "You can't
drop anything more in this room" message. Linked storage boxes, though
completely illogical, were good.

Ha!!! I had forgotten those "can't drop" words! I also like the
purchased-acquired space. You can carry an unlimited amount of treasure now,
but I think it would be pointless to carry weapons you don't use. I liked
the idea of having to pick and choose your weapons. They just need to make
the ammo spaces infinite. Then there'd be no more carrying four full boxes
of tmp ammo, four full boxes of rifle ammo (40 rifle total how ridiculous),
and every box of shotgun ammo you can find. Just stick an odometer like
counter under the ammo and be done with this space sorting stuff. I know
there are infinite ammo weapons to be earned, but what about those who can't
earn those weapons! (like me) I didn't mind the boxes, but I think there
might be a backlash of sorts if Capcom re-implemented them. I think "I'll
buy it at a high price" is here to stay.
Zombies should be included in a least one level or mini game!

Inifinite ammo spaces (not infinite ammo itself) would be sooooo
helpful. I never earned any infinite ammo weapons either, and I carried
the pistol around because its ammo was the most plentiful. I would much
rather have carried just the shotgun, rifle, and rocket launcher (the
only infinite ammo gun I had), but ammo for the shotgun and rifle
weren't as available. Which, I suppose, is the point -- it's supposed
to be survival horror, after all, and part of the horror is trying to
survive with limited ammo. Still, having infinite ammo inventory slots
really would be cool.
And the more I think of it, a mini or side game with zombies would be a
good way to go. You'd keep all your old fans, the ones who loved the
zombies, happy. And all the new fans, the ones who never played
anything before 4, who like the tentacle-headed Plagas-infested
critters, they'd be happy too, since zombies wouldn't be the primary
focus of the plot. So now you just need to get a job at Capcom, Susan,
and implement that idea! >> Stay informed about: ok i give in HHHHEEELLLPPPPPP please! |

Now that would be the ultimate job for an RE fan eh? It would be the only
job you wouldn't want to go home from! I have heard that Capcom does listen
to some of the suggestions from their fan sites in Japan. However, the rest
of us don't count. We just buy the product after all. You have a point about
the game being "survival horror" and it does seem counter productive to make
survival a moot point. I look at it this way, I survived and I want
revenge!!! There is a limited amount of ammo to be found on the first trip
through the game, so the ammo wouldn't start accumulating until the second
trip through. So, technically you have done the survival bit. Every trip
after that first would become easier ammo wise. I not so sure about the
infinite ammo weapons making RE easy to get through. I got a copy of RE Zero
complete with all unlocked goodies through a friend. Licking my lips, and
wringing my fingers, I rushed the game into the console and proceeded to
infinite magnum everything. Great fun I thought. Turns out that I died in
the game over twenty times! Yes I know it doesn't say much for my game play
skills, but I died during surprise/trap moments. You know, can't see what's
two feet in front of you with those really nasty camera angles. RE games
seem to be more than just how much ammo you have. The earlier games would
kill you in those puzzle traps. IE not replacing the fake key (found in the
dogs collar) for the real one in remake when the armored statues are coming
at you from all angles. Or the poison gas being released when you moved
something in the room the wrong way. They have replaced the "solve puzzle or
die bit" with "press button combo quick or die bit." I just think giving us
the ability to accumulate ammo would allow the rest of us the choice of
weapon to use during the revenge runs. Yap, yap, yap. Get me started on RE
eh?
