yea, sure.

I imagine the generator was built during the first half of the 20th
century, and it was built to provide power for -every- soda and
candybar machine in the hospital, beside the essential stuff like
lifesupport. We are talking about an American hospital.

If it was built in the first half of the century it wouldn't have been
built to provide power to everything in the hospital today. Modern
hospitals use a _lot_ more power than those of the pre-70s era.
