You MUST use the flux-analyzed Black Sword to defeat them. And then it only
takes a couple of hits to kill each one.
The biggest problem I had was that the Banes would gang up on the Avatar and
he/she'd be dead before I had a chance to kill them. That's why I kept
hitting "S" and casting restoration. It would've helped if you had a life-
gauge like in U8. You don't really know anything's wrong until the screen
flashes red...

You MUST use the Black Sword to combat the Banes, and the sword must be in
Avatar's hand.

The Hack Mover isn't a third party program, it's part of the
editing/playtesting software the developers left in the program.
Not that your point isn't valid, mind you.
I believe the developers said it best, in the inaccesible plaque in Furnace:
"Turn off the hack-mover you cheater!" Smile

Ultima novels - Looking through books on my bookshelf, I came across the 3 part Machinations trilogy of Ultima novels. I got these years ago and never read them. Looking them up at Amazon, I see they are out of print. I don't see any other books listed outside the..

Commodore discs names - I dl'ed a C64 emulator and one of the games I want to play again is Ultima V. My discs are buried in storage somewhere, could someone tell me what the original disc names are so I can get things right when I swap them?
