Anyone know why ATC changes frequencies within the same center ever 4-5 minutes.
Is there any way have these happen with less frequency? (Ignore pun please).

Thanks

Near as I can tell, this happens because you are flying along the border or
boundary between two sectors and the AI ATC can't, unfortunately, tell
itself who is supposed to handle you so you get passed back and forth and
back and forth, etc...

The irritating thing is, no matter where you are or in what direction you're
flying, you ALWAYS seem to be flying along the boundary between two sectors.

I think it's actually an anti-Quilling measure. Smile)))

Look at it this way.. gives you exercise in tuning the radios. That
means the popup action, tuning by either clicking or mouse-wheeling
over the digits, even with keyboard shortcuts (try out that action!)

You should all use Radar Contact for IFR. It just gets better all the time
and, IMHO, is well worth the money. One of the best add-ons with superb
support! Smile

That is one of the most frustrating things about the lame ATC in FS9. I
have FSNav and can see the borders of the ARTCC sectors. It seems to have
nothing to do with those borders as far as I can see. That one thing is the
sole reason I NEVER use ATC. You can get five changes is less than three
minutes. I just plan my trip with FSNav. Request VFR clearance, takeoff and
fly. I don't request any permission to enter or cross a sector . . . I just
go. I do request permission to land when I am within range of the
destination. But I doubt paying $44 USD for RadarContact would cause me
anymore fun. I just enjoy my new re-installation. The sim is running
faster than before, Ground Effects Pro is looking good as is Flight
Environment. I know. I know. "It's not very realistic". But neither is
sitting in my recliner, flying with a joystick sitting on the arm rest and
my trusty daschund snoozing as close to me as she can get. Life is good
with no ATC.

Keep in mind that you are only seeing ARTCC borders. Underneath this
airspace there are many approach facilities of class C airports and/or
TRSAs of class D airports. These borders you are not seeing in FSNav.
