When I change position in the bender (1-2-3) I get a 1-
second freeze then the game continues.
I tried dropping all details to minimum and color depth
to 16 bit, but no help. Anyway I have plenty of fps
normally (50+ most of the time).

It didn't use to do this before...

Are you current on your display drivers?

In addition to turning down in-game settings, you might try playing
around with your video driver settings.... forcing AA/AF off, etc.

How much memory do you have, both vid card and system?

No, but that would be pointless as I have an old card.

it's off already.

128, 1GB.

Theres no swapping happening, and other vehicles are ok.

Apparently restarting the game fixes it for a while...

Pull out your player and game .ini's out of the system folder and let the
game generate you new ones. Rebind just the hellbender swap and see if it
fixes the lag. At least that will tell you if it's something wrong in those
files. Outside of that, you may have to reinstall because something has
gotten corrupted.

I've seen some really odd stuff happen now and again with my installs of the
UT series. I wonder if it's due to anti-cheat having a "root" type access to
your install, the whole cache-type system of downloadable content, some
fault in the engine coding or a smidge from all of them? Most times I can
work around whatever gets messed but I've had a half-dozen reinstalls over
the years.
