If I travel out the side exit of Camelot across the double bridge and take a
right eventually I come to a thing nestled in the hills the looks sort of
like an A-frame with a blue portal in it. So far I haven't gotten too close
because it's surrounded by animals that are several levels above me, and
some appear hostile to me.

What is that thing?

Iīm only playing in Midgard, so i really canīt tell you what exactly
this gate is (reason why i canīt help you with your previous question
Wink)...but if itīs surrounded by monsters (even hostile), it sounds like
youīre standing in front of the entrance to Darkness Falls, a
RvR&PvM-Dungeon (you can get money and some seals inside this dungeon,
and for the seals you can buy items and armour from some merchants in
Darkness Falls...but be aware of the hib&mid-players, access to this
dungeon is controlled by the frontier-status: the realm with most
towers/keeps can access the dungeon...so if you enter DF and e.g.
Midgard raids some keeps, it will no longer be accessable to Albion, but
to Midgard instead...and itīs just a question of time, til the first
mid-players rush around the tunnels and blow your head away ^^).

Could be the portal to some expansion as well (in Midgard, near the
capitol-city, there is a porter to the
shrouded-isles-expansion-area...maybe itīs this?).
But try to use the /map-command, maybe itīs pointed out on the maps Wink

It means you will need to wait about 38 levels before you can do it.
CL refers to Champion Level. Assuming that you have Darkness Rising, when
you reach level 30 you can begin your first champion level quest. At 40
you can begin your second champion level quest and at 50 you can do the
third champion level quest. These quests get you a few more abilities and
hit points.

They are more like the epic quests than MLs.
They can be soloed up to a point.

for the champion quests designed for levels 30 and 40 you don't need a
group, can be done solo by the most classes.
the lvl 50 champion quest is designed to be done by 1 very good group or
more if you have some "social spaces" in the group like infils, or other
"weak" pvm chars. the last mob has to be done by 1 group since it's
instanced
