I believe that the "Astronomicon" book has a Rogue Trader army list.
It's rediculously hard to find and stupidly expensive when it shows up
on eBay.

the main 40K Rogue Trader book has a good amount of fluff on the
general backstory of 40K. It has some on Rogue Traders as well.

Hey,

You needn't search for RT-era books just to learn that RTs were
basically explorers.

Think Marco Polo + Benjamin Disraeli + James Bond with a splash of
Edward Teach.

For visual RT potential, have a look at lightly armed/ armoured figs
like Henchmen:

Hench 2 looks safe enough, but robes can conceal eleven Jokaero Digital
Weapons! ;- )

> are there any GW models that would fit the bill for a female RT?

Unfortunately, most female models are either undressed or grossly
overdressed.

Rocket Girl? Warrior Woman? Not enough authority, imo. Consider -

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99...108052&

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=OZ...SPECIAL

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99...5991410

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99...1020060

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99...1020140

While male Traders would conceal their weapons, females might carry
them openly.

You see, it discourages temptation in Mechanicus Adepts to overcharge
for repairs . . .

The limited edition Witch Hunter model makes a nice Rogue Trader, don't
going paying over the odds for one though as there are plenty around. I've
got 3 sat on my desk waiting for me to put them on eBay ...

The new Eldar Prince Yriel would also make a good figure, just don't put the
back banners on.

The Inquisitor figures might fit the bill too with a little filing to remove
the I logo.

For a female figure it's much harder to find something suitable, possibly a
converted Sister of Battle or the Sister Hospitaller in the WH Inquisitor
box, or possibly something from the Mordheim range or Necromunda range.

I would be happy to buy one of these from you right now - I've been looking
for one for quite some time! Or if you'd rather work through eBay, just
throw a post on here letting us know when you put them up.

Thanks again!
