Post subject: flash firmware / cdr's with dreamcast
Archived from groups: alt>games>video>sega-dreamcast, others (more info?)

Hi,

I have two PAL-Dreamcasts here that both do not start self-booting cdrs.
I tried with NesterDC and the DC Port of Snes9x. What they do start is
the utopia boot-cd.

Any ideas so far, what I can do to make them start?

Maybe I have those newer DC-versions that do not support cdrs anymore
because of the different firmware. Is it possible to replace the
firmware anyhow?

Thx in advance,

Chris

So they work with utopia ?

Possibly to rebuild an image with the self-boot files in place -
somewhere like http://www.dcemulation.com/ might give you some ideas

no, just the utopia cd works. Utopia also starts original CD's, but not
the emulators. I have not tested burned games since I have none.

I created the emulator-cd's with tools that should produce self-booting
discs :-\. For the DreamSNES-CD I used the "DreamSNES tutorial for
Windows users"-tutorial I found on www.dcemulation.com
