Hmm, I think my only "mistake" so far was leveling staves instead of
something one-handed, although I'm not sure I even had the option to do
one-handed so early in the game. It seems better to equip a one-handed
weapon and an off-hand item for the stat gains, rather than just a
staff, but I suppose it depends on the staff.

As a rule of thumb: If the +AP stat on the weapon (or any other item)
doesn't state "ranged", you'll get it.

As I recall, I thought this would be a "quick" quest,
one where I just ran to Thunderbluff and learned a
new spell from a trainer. But I started it somewhere
in level 10 and finished when I was level 11.
There's not *that* much to do so that it'll bring you
up a whole level. I did have a large resting bonus,
and I probably picked up extra experience from
killing stuff along the way.

Wasn't so bad after all. Pretty quick, just a bit of travelling. I got
it at 10. Fun! Smile
