There's been a lot of "favorite game" polls in the past, but I don't recall
this one being asked. What's your favorite black & white raster game to
play? You can include b/w TV games in there too, and even if they have a
color overlay like Deluxe Space Invaders. Basically, any black & white
monitor except an XY monitor?

My favorite has to be Atari's Canyon Bomber. What's yours?

Non-XY eh?

Wheels II

With those sound effects and difficulty of play you can't do
*anything* but sit there and giggle like a dumbass every minute you
play it.

Next to that is Boot Hill.

I mean, B&W's are cool games, but they are twice as fun with 2 players
or more.

Damn straight!!! Space Zap rocks! It (as well as Tempest) was the first game
I wanted when I realized it was actually possible to own my on video games.

I haven't played too many black and whites, but of the ones I have I'd say
Space Zap hands down.

Sea Wolf.
It'll always be a classic in my book. -Fond memories of poppin'
many-a-quarter into the one in Beefsteak Charlie's with my parents when
I was a kid. Who can forget the sound of that PT boat! Now, just to
get ONE of my project SW's out of the work shop and into the game room!

Space Invaders Deluxe. The "floating effect" on that game looks so
cool, espicially in a dimly lighted room.

Stunt Cycle back in the day, I was (and still am) a huge Evel Knievel
fan and it was about the only other outlet besides either cranking up
the toy Stunt Cycle for a few jumps in the house or setting up some
blocks and boards in the street Smile

Space Zap is awesome, a simple "zone" experience if there ever was one.

Atari Football. I used to get serious pinch marks on those trakball
controls.

Atari Basketball was another fave of mine.

Also Night Rider which was real slick !

I know it's not a video, but I used to play a Namco F1 around the same
time. *thought* it was video! It was until much years later that I
found out that everything going on behind the screen was all in
miniature.

Pong and spacewar. Space war is great for some 2 player battles. Two
years ago there was a convention where the final game was pong for a
huge set of prizes. Pong still lives on.
