Missing from Manual? - Hey, all, it's me the newbie again! Got the new games off of eBay, installed SoA and ToB. I really like hitting TAB to see what can be clicked on, that's worth ToB right there! I've got most of the game down, I think. An actual manual would be nice,..

BG2 - Graphics problem - Hi guys, I've just finished a days worth of mod hunting for what I think is my 5th go through. It was a clean install with ToB, the latest official patch, and ToB 112 fix. Mods aren't an issue I know, so I won't go through them here. My..

Any lists of enemies/weaknesses for BG2? - I'm at the beginning (Irenicus prison 2) of the game and already I'm getting pounced by a room of mephits. There are three machines that keep these buggers. I know I gotta get those machines. They seem to magic spells. My main guy..

Why does my party turn red? - I am near the beginning of the game (BG1, the original 5-disk version), entering in Nashkel, and on the way down, my turned red. What's up with this and how does this affect gameplay? Montaron kept about wanting to go to Nashkel. ..

I think that BG2, more than any other game (perhaps save Floyd in
"Planetfall"), has made me actually care about the NPCs and their
motivations. great voice acting, great dialogue, behaviour driven by
your own actions. In most RPGs I want to create my party and maintain
balance throughout -- in BG2 my only regret is that I'm limited to 5
NPCs at a time!

Just wondering what 'favorite moments' you remember most fondly from
BG2? I tripped across a great moment last night:

- At Brynnlaw, you can talk to the Pirate Mayor to gain entry into
Spellhold. If you select your options carefully, you can have Minsc
'convince' the mayor that you need to be committed. Brilliant!

others fresh in my memory:

- Jan's gift of 'Boots of Jankind', nice touch as a random event.
"Uh....thanks."

- Edwin's and Viconia's verbose insults to the dull-witted Minsc.

- Minsc going beserk if Aerie is killed, another nice touch

i agree...its hard to play the game w/o minsc in the party, whether
you're good/neutral/evil. he just adds so much humour and dialogue.

jan kind of fills that role, but in a non-sensical sort of way.

I actually like the final conversation with Viconia just before the
final fight of Throne of Bhaal, if she's turned away from evil as part
of a romance - I think it's some of the best dialogue in the game.

There's a great banter between Minsc and Sarevok in which the latter
refuses to be judged by a creature which keeps nuts in its cheeks.

Minsc's battle-cry against Irenicus.

Another Minsc incident with a trader in the northeast corner of the
main plaza in Athkatla.

Any Minsc banter, really. Wink

Jonathan.

My favourite BG moment is actually in BG1, when you get halfway up the
baddies' stronghold and meet the snotty aristo woman who says something
like "Are you witless?". One of the options is "Yes, and these here
with me are Moron and Brainless" ... or something. I forget the exact
text but it made me laugh out loud, which is rare for a game.

Mind you, I've yet to finish BG2 (still in Underdark).

That's mine too. In fact the whole romance, this dance on the razor's edge.
Final success is so great in this one.

Keldorn and Korgans interactions - They're at opposite ends of the
alignment scale, but they have a great love/hate relationship.

I guess number one for me is when I first fought Firkraag. I was blown away
by that encounter.

During my second run through the game I consulted a lot of spoiler
documents. That's when I found out about the trapped mage in the underdark.
I was once again extremely impressed with that mini-quest. It was basically
an easter eggs, and yet so well done with lots of voiced acting.

Irenicus' dungeon draws a lot of complaints because you have to go through
it every single time you start a new game, but I felt it was perfect way to
start a game. Right away you are given a purpose and a reason to adventure.
The hints and mysteries throughout the dungeon compelled me to keep going,
to see future held for my character and the NPCs. (The genie that tests you
in the cave just after the lightning trap/mephit room is a mysterious figure
that still hasn't been explained.)

For me, probably the party when it hassles Edwin for his little gender
bender. Absolutely hilarious.
