Hmm. How old's this friend? My theory is that they're probably not part of
the Trading Card Game, but came free with a magazine or something - I don't
think there's much of a market for counterfeit Pokémon cards these days.
On the other hand, I know the Japanese cards have different backs, so maybe
they're just from a different English-speaking country (assuming the text is
English).
Anyway, like Chet says, if you could scan them (or provide the text on them)
it'd be a big help.
