Congrats!

The thing you will notice alot is the Palkia and Dialga thing (could
include the 100 level thing too). I think it's something about
cloning, could just be greed from others who see the cloners asking
for crazy things and thinking they will get them.

I have found that if you ask for any gender and any level and have
reasonable expectations (not legendaries, but pokes, even rare ones)
someone will come through for you. I got a Ditto for a newborn
Teddiursa and I think that's crazy. And it's my second traded Ditto
'cause I am greedy.

I still wish we could search by item and ask for items.

moves, are the IVs up to potential?

You could always ask for under 9 (you will probably get level 1s
anyway). I hear that if you battle with the Pal Pad that all pokes
are elevated to level 100 for the battle but without the EVs so all
you get are the IVs. You can then check your pokes' stats and train
up the ones that meet your standards.

Well, you can choose level 100, 50, or leave them as they are.

Well, I ended up putting one of my many many Cranidice (Cranidi?
Cranidoses?) up in hopes of getting a Chimchar, just so I can get something
fire in. I'm hoping there'll be a nice Pearl trainer out there.

I've transferred over the full sapphire starter set, and a couple of
females from the other games today and was planning to breed them after
doing the berry trading zigzagoons. I was trying to breed on extreme
speed from my shiny linoone but it's not having it.
Was there anything in particular you were looking for?

I don't know, since I haven't gotten there and my guide doesn't say. There
is a Wi-Fi battle room in the Battle Tower, though, and I'm pretty sure
there's a co-op mode there.

Have you got the National Dex yet, Ted? Wondering whether you've started
collecting rare old-school Pokémon, like old starters and such.

That's great news - I wasn't looking forward to raising my serious team to
:L100, so it's great that once they've got the moves and EVs I want and are
fully evolved, I can just leave them as they are.

(I assume the Battle Tower doesn't give experience, right? Does it also
upgrade your Pokémon, like online battling?)

Nah, not at the moment, but I was wondering how you were coming along.

I actually bought a new Sapphire recently. My other one is Celebi away from
a full Pokédex, so I needed a copy I could freely restart. So I ought to be
alright for the RSE starters for the time being - but we'll see how long I
have the patience for this sort of thing.

Only comparatively. Once they've hit max EVs, it doesn't matter how you get
them the rest of the way to :L100 - their stats will be identical.
Training, Daycare, Rare Candy, or this trick - same stats all the way.

Wicked. If you get there before I do, I'd be grateful if you posted further
details.

A bit of an update.

So my current GTS-traded 'mon include:
* KIKIKISHIKI the then-Chimchar, from PAARU in Chiba, Japan
* An unnamed then-Piplup from Birgen in Belgium
* An unnamed Pichu from Alvaro in Andalusia, Spain. (I've got to register
Andalusian Pichu as a screenname somewhere.)

I also have about 8 spare Cranidoses, and two spare Pachirisu (for anyone
raising them for something OTHER than Pickup, since they both have Run
Away). I know there are Pearl players who are looking for some (IIRC,
that's where KIKIKISHIKI came from), so if anyone here is looking for one
you know where to look.
