Archived from groups: alt>games>warcraft (more info?)

my char was idle for a long time. I realized this and played him.
the first thing that happened was " wanna join a guild?***) ok. I said
"YES" and the next thing I know I get a message saying I am now
GuildMaster????? what? I checked up the guild has 4 members, no cash
and the bank has us locked out for shortage of cash. ( I have 9 silver
in hand)

Is there an faq or information about fixing and or establishing a guild.

this guild is 'L`e Twink' sheesh! if that is so I need to change
the name I have no problem with homosexuals but I just dont want to give
the wrong idea. so I should like to change the name. then I can work
on the guild proper.

I got into to this problem because I logged in my other toon. and was
offered to join a guild.

What do you mean, "locked out"?

A guild vault starts with no pages, and it will cost you 100g for the first
page. Is that what you mean?

Twink in this context means someone given items/gold beyond their means
to get them.

over here twinky is another name for homosexual. I did not make that
up. and that is why it is offensive.

You have no responsibility for this guild. I would drop it and start one
with the name of your choosing if you're really wanting to run a guild. But
I can tell you, to do a guild well takes alot of work and alot of reasonably
minded folks. Everyone on the same page as far as further goals, etc. My
son got a guild kinda dumped on him and he's struggling to get something
going. We have over 70 members. That's the best advice I can give you.
Hope it works out for you.

Ever see the Mr. Rogers documentary about how Twinkies are made?

Yes, yes, we know, but as a gaming term it has been around almost as
long, and it does indeed mean "a character with gold and items way
beyond what should be their means". God, I've seen this stupid debate
so many times over the years.

If I was you I'd just leave the guild and forget about it. New
players are usually desperate to belong to a guild ("Ooo, and wear a
TABARD - Omfg, how cool is that" is the usual thought) and usually
join the first one that asks at random. Then they find out it the
membership is comprises a bunch of low-level newbies who had all been
- yes, you guessed it - desperate to join a guild Very Happy They are
usually useless guilds, and they usually fold in a couple of weeks due
to apathy or infighting because "they aren't made an officer", heh.

I join a new group when I was around level 22, and got ripped for about 20g
and allot of blue and green items, I stayed with them for about a week, and
I got to figure out how to read the logs of what was happening in the guild,
come to find out I was the only one dropping money in the guild bank, and
items in the bank, and everyone else was the ones getting the titles and
such.

I'm level 60 now and been guild since then.

Not to be rude, son, but I'd suggest that you need to grow up a bit
and stop (a) finding offense where it doesn't exist, and (b) worrying
about what you think other people may think. If the worst that happens
to you during your life is that someone you've never met and never
will misconstrues your sexuality, you'll be doing bloody well.

I'd say, leave the guild. Go play with some other guilds and get a
group of regular players together. Once you have at least 5 commited
people to go and do instances together and share the responsibility of
the guild, then create one. One guild I was in that began a while
ago, 5 of us created new toons. 1 tank, 1 healer, than 3 dps. We also
made sure we covered our professions between us. It was fun started a
lvling guild and having people to play with all the way up to 70.
